Science-Religion as an effort in the implementation of character education at Islamic-based schools in Lamongan

Abstract

Science-religion is an integration between science education with Islamic religious values that are inserted in every learning process. The research, motivated by the character education that was initiated by the government, is expected to be one of the efforts in the implementation of character education especially at Islamic-based schools in Lamongan. Implementation of science-religion is carried out on the seventh-grade students in MTs.Nurul Ulum and MTs. Roudlotul Quran in Lamongan with quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results show that science-religion education is able to increase the values of the character of students who have been assessed authentically although in some cases teachers still have problems in evaluating student output. In addition, based on the questionnaire distributed, it indicates that the students responded positively to the applied science-religion education.
