Abstract

The problem underlying this research is the low problem-solving ability of students in solving physics problems caused by the learning model in class, which is still not able to train problem-solving students. This study aims to describe the effect of problem-based learning models on students' problem-solving ability on dynamic fluid material. This research is a quantitative study with a one-group pretest-posttest design with one experimental class and one replication class. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Jombang in October 2022. The research sample amounted to 46 students from class XI MIPA 3 and from class XI MIPA 6. The results of the paired t-test hypothesis test at α = 0.05 obtained a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00 with the conclusion that H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted, which shows an increase in students' problem-solving ability in dynamic fluid material after being given treatment in the form of learning with a problem-based learning model, and an independent t-test with α = 0.05 obtained a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.071 with the conclusion that H₀ is accepted and H₁ is rejected, which shows the consistency of the improvement that occurs in the experimental and replication classes.
