Elementary school-age children can be said to be children who are still underage because they are between 7-12 years old. The presence of technology today can lead to the expansion of culture across countries, such as Korean culture which is currently very popular with both adults and children. Korean drama shows are presented with fresh and alluring nuances, so it's no wonder Korean dramas are liked by the general public, not an exception for elementary school children. Access to viewing Korean drama shows at this time is very easy to obtain due to technology such as the internet which is very helpful. The purpose of this study is to describe the action and to find out the form of awareness of elementary school children as a Korean drama. This study uses qualitative methods with Hussrel's phenomenological perspective theory to explain how elementary school-age children as fans of Korean dramas will be described as they are and without an interpretation process. The results of this study reveal that the actions of elementary school children as Korean drama lovers are by subscribing to legal applications that provide Korean drama shows, buying shared Blu-rays, consuming social media to deal with developments in Korean dramas.

In this digitalization era, updates on information technology are rapidly developing, one of which is the development of information technology in the field of education, which integrates information technology in the learning process called e-learning. Therefore, we aim to examine the impact of e-learning implementation on improving the academic performance of communication science study program students at State Univercity of Surabaya. With the use of this e-learning platform, we want to know how students' participation in following the learning process and the ease and difficulties faced during the e-learning process can improve achievement or the achievement of learning objectives. Using a qualitative method, this research was conducted with an in-depth literature study to obtain information as a theoretical foundation. Furthermore, this research involves an interview process with communication science students at State University of Surabaya to gain perspectives on their experiences during online learning and their academic performance. E-learning allows students to get access to information related to educational resources without space or time constraints, which can improve their academic performance. However, there are challenges that need to be overcome by students, namely the lack of students' skills in mastering technology, limited supporting tools and internet access, and a lack of motivation to learn independently. For this reason, the Universitas Negeri Surabaya community needs to continue to evaluate the implementation of e-learning in the learning system so that students can make the most of technological advances to improve their academic performance.

The increasing use of mobile banking technology (M-banking) has influenced various aspects of
society's life in the digital era. This scientific article aims to investigate the influence of Mbanking on the shopping patterns of Surabaya's residents. The research methodology used in this
study involves a survey of 48 active M-banking users in Surabaya, as well as a literature review
indicating that M-banking plays a crucial role in transforming consumer shopping behavior. Mbanking has become a revolutionary innovation, not only in terms of convenience but also in
terms of fundamentally changing consumer shopping behavior. This transformation has proven to
bring positive benefits, with the public becoming more savvy in managing their personal finances
and having more control over how they spend their money. The results of data analysis from the
survey and literature review indicate that M-banking has a significant impact on changing the
shopping patterns of Surabaya's residents. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Mbanking has provided a positive contribution in facilitating the community's access to banking
services, which, in turn, alters how they shop. Surabaya's residents tend to be more meticulous in
managing their finances and have greater flexibility in conducting shopping transacti ons. This
undoubtedly has broader implications for the economy of Surabaya and may also provide
valuable insights for other cities experiencing similar changes in this digital era.

Online shopping has become a dominant phenomenon in the lives of people in general and students inparticular.
Students as one of the important segments in society, have unique preferences in online shoppingthat are worthy of
deeper understanding. Many things can influence student behavior in making online purchasing decisions.
Therefore, the researcher is interested in conducting a study with the title “Factors Affecting College Students’
Preferences in Online Shopping.” This study aims to investigate the factors thatplay a role in college students’ decision to
choose online shopping as their primary choice. This research uses the post- positivism paradigm, quantitative research
method, and survey research type. The data collection technique used a questionnaire distributed to all
Communication Science Students of Surabaya State University, class 2023B totaling 45. The results showed that
tangible evidence is the most influential factor on student satisfaction in online shopping. The implication is the
importance of focusing on product quality in meeting students’ shopping preferences. This research provides valuable
insights for e-commerce companies and online sellers in optimizing their strategies.

This journal discusses the role of digital media in the lecture process at the Communication Science
Study Programme at Surabaya State University. Digital media, such as supporting applications
Siakadu, Zoom, and Gmeet, play an important role in creating varied learning. The use of digital
media provides a new breakthrough and convenience for students and lecturers in carrying out
online learning. Social influence is also felt in the learning process that switches to online media.
One of the aspects affected is the communication between students, both with other students and
with lecturers. In this context, students tend to experience difficulties in socialising directly, because
the communication process is mostly done online without face-to-face meetings. In this journal, the
author explains that digital media can help students access lecture materials more easily. In some
cases, students can access lecture materials anytime and anywhere through online platforms
provided by the university. This provides greater flexibility for students in organising their study
time. In addition, digital media also allows interaction between students and lecturers through
features such as online discussion forums, email, and chat. Students can easily ask questions or
discuss with lecturers and classmates without having to meet in person. In this journal, the author

The increasingly rapid development of media encourages speeding up the delivery of information, to convey information not
only through direct communication, but also through media platforms, one of which is video content on the TikTok
application, this is related to Fuad Sasmita's TikTok content regarding UNESA, which is inviting a bad image and
negative comments from netizens. The purpose of this research is to find out how the audience receives content that
brings the good name of Surabaya State University (UNESA). Qualitative research methods and reception of Stuart
Hall's encoding-decoding theory were used in this research, which can help researchers analyze differences in the
reception of informants' meanings of Fuad Sasmita's content. In collecting data using interview techniques. i. The results
of this research prove that there are differences in the reception of informants' meanings in understanding the video. A
total of 2 informants are in the dominant hegemonic position, namely acknowledging, accepting and fully agreeing with
the content, 1 other informant is in the negotiated reading category, namely agreeing and accepting the content but with
several things that need to be considered, and 4 informants are in the position of oppositional reading , namely
completely rejecting thecontent.

The purpose of this study is to determine the reception of the general public, especially undergraduate, regarding
the disclosure of the ideas of presidential candidates in 2024, related to the Mata Najwa broadcast at UGM on
September 19, 2023. This has been aired on Mata Najwa YouTube with 9.38 million followers and watched around
6,876,840 times on Mata Najwa YouTube. The research method this time uses the reception method, which means
that reception analysis is one of the research methods in media studies that shows the unique relationship between
the media and its audience. Media studies itself with its various varieties seeks to shape human choices, in this
journal especially to determine the choice of 2024 presidential candidates through the delivery of ideas and the
debate itself. The steps in the reception method are to see how the debate of the three bacapes ideas goes, asking
fellow students who finally get in-depth interviews, namely several students. The results of this study found the
conclusion that most students preferred the ideas conveyed by Mr. Prabowo Subianto. They argued that Mr.
Prabowo has a good track record, especially in the military, which can be applied in leadership that is firm in
responding to problems. In delivering his ideas, Mr. Prabowo is also more focused on delivering ideas that are
straightforward and not wordy, opening up freedom of speech, and opening up more opportunities for young
people.

This research was conducted with the aim that online media can play a role in increasing
understanding of gender equality. With today's technological sophistication, it is easier for
people to obtain information through online media access. There are many online media that
provide information in the form of news about an event or event that is widely discussed by the
public. However, in terms of information, each media certainly has its own characteristics in its
construction and formulation. In this research, the author uses the literature study method. The
literature study research method is a data collection technique by examining books, searching for
literature data, notes, and also several reports related to the research. In Zed's opinion, the
literature study method is a series of activities related to library data collection methods,
reading, recording, and processing research materials. Online media plays an important role in
people's perceptions of sexual violence news, discrimination and gender bias. The problem is that
online media is still not balanced in portraying the figure of women and gender bias. In the news
text, it is still often found that controversial gender bias occurs. In addition to controversial
gender bias, cases of sexuality are also often found in a media where online media tend to put
themselves in the position of the perpetrator and have not prioritized women as victims of sexual
violence. Therefore, this study aims to determine gender bias in the reporting of sexual violence
against women in online media. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a
literature study research method. Researchers found that there is no uniform understanding of
the reporting of women in cases that occur in online media. The research results obtained show
that online media need to increase understanding of gender equality so as to minimize the
occurrence of gender bias construction. This case makes it difficult for women to become career
women even though they have the same rights, so continuous efforts are needed from various
fields in society, namely: education, work, and politics. So that women can express themselves

Indonesia is a country that has many differences. Usually urban communities often show a
portrait of pluralism. Currently, interfaith marriages have developed rapidly in urban
communities. In fact, now there are so many artists in the capital who have had interfaith
marriages. The existence of an event that is not in accordance with societal norms will definitely
cause a lot of controversy. Based on the illustration above, this research aims to reveal how
urban communities perceive interfaith marriages in the lives of urban communities. This study
used qualitative research methods. Then the data that has been obtained is analyzed using the
Miles and Huberman technique. Apart from that, this research has two data sources, namely
secondary and primary data. The research results showed that the majority of research subjects
stated that they did not agree with interfaith marriages. This perception illustrates that urban
communities do not experience social change while living in urban areas.

As time progresses, the generation gap becomes more pronounced, resulting in social disparities among different age
groups, particularly between earlier generations and Generation Z. A significant focal point of this divide is the
prevalence of generational stereotypes. Generation Z frequently grapples with negatif assumptions linked to their
perceived dependence on technology and the presumption of their inclinations towards instant gratification, idleness,
and entitlement. These stereotypes often persist due to the influence of various environmental and social factors,
propagated primarily by preceding generations. Additionally, disparities are evident in terms of values and beliefs
between these two generational cohorts. This article is dedicated to delving into the intricate dynamics of these
generational issues that have evolved over time. By conducting this research, our objective is to offer insights into
how Milenials perceive Generation Z from multiple vantage points. The primary research approach employed in this
article is qualitative, with a primary focus on interview-based research involving three carefully chosen participants.
The findings from this study reveal that the stereotypes commonly associated with Generation Z do not wholly align
with the perceptions of the Milenial generation. In conclusion, this abstract encapsulates the study's essence,
methodology, findings, and the ultimate conclusion that challenges prevailing stereotypes about Generation Z
through the lens of Milenial perception

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues have become a significant topic of
conversation in Indonesian society, creating diverse views and debates. Online media, as one of
the main sources of information, plays an important role in shaping people's understanding and
views on these social issues. This article aims to analyze how online media, particularly detik.com
and kompas.com, frame LGBT issues in their coverage. The focus of this research is to understand
the framing used by the two media outlets and its impact on people's perceptions of LGBT. This
research adopts the media framing theory first proposed by Robert N. Entman. This framing
theory emphasizes how the media has an important role in choosing certain aspects of an issue to
present to the audience, as well as how these framing choices affect readers' or viewers'
understanding. In this context, this research focuses on analyzing the impact of the use of Framing
in the media on the constructivist paradigm. The constructivist paradigm refers to the view that
social reality is not only discovered, but also constructed through social interaction, language and

Technological advances greatly affect people's lives, significant changes are inevitable,

as an AI technology that has many advantages, one of which is in the education sector. In the
learning context, the use of Chat GPT can contribute to increasing learning effectiveness by
providing access to information and material that is broader and easier to understand. This
research aims to identify the effectiveness of using Chat GPT in completing essay assignments,
especially for students at Surabaya State University majoring in Communication Sciences. The
research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach using data collection techniques
through questionnaires. The respondents in this research were active students of the Bachelor of
Communication Science Study Program at Surabaya State University. Using GPT Chat can help
Surabaya State University students in completing assignments such as essays. Starting from
searching for information, answers and composing sentences, thus allowing users to be more
productive in completing their tasks. However, if Chat GPT continues to be used it can cause
dangerous dependency. People can lose writing, research, or problem-solving skills by relying too
much on these technologies.

The level of violence in Indonesia is increasing, especially sexual violence. Based on information
obtained from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen-PPPA) shows
that women dominate the number of victims of violence cases today. A form of sexual violence that
is often overlooked is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment can occur without knowing the
boundaries of space and time. This type of violence has also transformed in cyberspace, namely
social media. Social media as a forum for interaction and communication can also be a space for
sexual harassment of women. Instagram is one of the most vulnerable and even dangerous spaces
for women. From the description of the problem above, several formulations of problems focused on
this research, namely (1) what forms of sexual harassment can occur to women, (2) what is the
perspective of radical feminism on the causes of sexual harassment of women, (3) the impact of
sexual harassment and (4) efforts to minimize sexual harassment on Instagram. The objectives of
this study are (1) knowing the forms of sexual harassment that can occur to women, (2) knowing the
causes of sexual harassment in the view of radical feminism, (3) knowing the impact of sexual
harassment and (4) knowing the efforts that can be made to minimize sexual harassment on
Instagram. Data was collected by observing Instagram as a social media and conducting a
literature study. This research was reviewed using the perspective of radical feminism. In the study
results, it was found that online sexual harassment has various forms and there is a relationship
between patriarchal culture as one of the causes of sexual harassment.

This research aims to understand students' experiences and perceptions regarding the use of PayLater
services, as well as identifying the factors that motivate students to adopt this service. Current
developments will bring changes to individual needs and lifestyles. However, with the development of
technology, many students have consumerist behavior so that many of them still shop at E-Commerce
using the PayLater feature. Financial services that allow consumers to make purchases to postpone
payments with the term Buy Now Pay Later, this concept is popular in the digital era with the
emergence of E-Commerce which launches new features. This research explores the phenomenon of
using "Paylater" services among students through an in-depth qualitative approach. This research
method involves in-depth interviews with a number of students from various backgrounds. The
research results show that students use PayLater services mainly to meet their daily needs, especially
in terms of urgent purchases of goods and services. The ease, speed and flexibility of using PayLater
are the main drivers, although there is awareness of the associated risks such as debt buildup. The
use of PayLater is influenced by the social environment and peer influence, where students tend to
adopt this service if they see their friends also using it. In addition, this research reveals differences
in perceptions between students regarding the benefits and risks of using PayLater. Some students see
it as a tool that makes everyday life easier, while others worry about the long-term consequences.
These findings highlight the importance of financial education that does not only focus on technical
aspects, but also considers psychological and behavioral aspects in managing finances in the digital
era. This research makes an important contribution to an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon
of Paylater use among students, by describing the perspectives and direct experiences of users of this
service. The implications of these findings also provide a basis for higher education institutions and
financial institutions to develop relevant and effective financial education programs to support
students in managing their finances wisely in this digital era.

This research aims to determine communication patterns in long-distance relationships between
children and parents from various regions to maintain good relationships. The communication
patterns that we take in this research are communication patterns towards children and parents which
vary according to (Yusuf, 2004), namely Authoritarian communication patterns, Permissive
communication patterns, Authoritative communication patterns. The method used in this research is
qualitative, where the data collection process in the field uses in-depth observation and interview
techniques. And this method uses the phenomenological method which focuses on the specificity and
identification of a phenomenon felt by individuals in a daily situation. It can also be used to study
similarities in the behavior of a group of people. The informants who were sources were 3 students at
Surabaya State University. This research not only shows the communication patterns carried out by
parents and overseas children in maintaining relationships, but also the communication carried out
by children and parents is less than optimal because they rely on the media as a communication
channel without face-to-face contact and limited communication. With different and limited
communication patterns between parents and overseas children, they will definitely feel different
things from the communication patterns that occur. The results of this research are that
communication between children and parents is limited and relies on media as a communication
channel, without face-to-face contact.

used in this research is descriptive study with the main data sources obtained from interviews and
observations, while supporting data is obtained from documents and other supporting data. The
theory used in this research is dramaturgy (Impression management), with a qualitative
approach. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the impression management
carried out by @Michikofrizdew in her front stage displays three impressions, namely as a
communication trainer, TV presenter, and moderator. These three roles are built with full
awareness and careful preparation so that the front stage requires back stage support. The back
stage is quite well prepared with several influential parties, namely MF communications and
family. MF is the main support system in managing impressions in front of the public.

research method using a semiotic approach. With the results found that Marjan advertisements are dominated
by inspirational moral messages and can influence consumer perceptions and actions, plus Marjan
advertisements in 2023 also use CGI technology in the visuals displayed so that the animation in these
advertisements creates new creativity and innovation from previous Marjan advertisements, therefore CGI can
attract the audience when viewing Marjan advertisements because of realistic audio visuals. Then on the rational
appeal, Marjan wants to provide that its products can support global warming by re-branding its products as

Zoom learning has become a commonly used solution to the challenges of distance learning. This
abstract aims to analyze students' behavior in learning through Zoom. This study involved student
participants from various disciplines who attended online lectures using the Zoom platform. In this
study, the methods used interviews. Interviews is used to experience in learning through Zoom,
challenges faced, and their perception on the effectiveness of online learning. Interviews were used to
gain deeper insights into individual experiences and students' views. The results of data analysis show
that students experienced initial adjustments needed in using Zoom as a learning platform. Technical
challenges, such as unstable internet connection issues and difficulties in operating Zoom's features,
became significant obstacles in their learning experience. In addition, students also faced challenges
in maintaining concentration during long Zoom sessions and managing their time well. Social
interaction and communication are also affected in learning through Zoom. Students expressed a need
for more direct face-to-face interactions with lecturers and fellow students. Although the Zoom
platform provides features such as text chat and emoji reactions, nonverbal communication and
spontaneous interactions are limited in this virtual environment. Nonetheless, students recognize the
flexibility and accessibility offered by Zoom learning. They appreciated the ability to access lectures
from anywhere with a stable internet connection. In addition, they also consider the recorded lectures
as a useful learning resource. In conclusion. Zoom learning has significant challenges and benefits
for students. Further efforts are needed to overcome technical challenges, enhance social interaction,
and assist students in effectively managing their time and concentration in an online learning
environment. Development of technological skills and adequate support from educational institutions
are also important to ensure a successful learning experience through Zoom.

To grow crops, farmers need a number of production values such as the availability of money,
fertilizer, as well as production and distribution networks which will have a beneficial influence
on improving farmers' welfare in the future. However, in the agricultural sector, the government's
strategy to increase fertilizer prices is a problem, as is the policy of subsidized fertilizer and
increasing the price of non-subsidized fertilizer. Apart from that, fertilizer availability is minimal
and the accuracy of allocation is sometimes not on target. In order to overcome this problem, of
course farmers should make rational choices. Therefore, this research aims to describe the choices
that farmers consider rational when facing rising fertilizer prices. Qualitative research using the
case study method was used in this research using rational choice theory analysis. The research
was conducted in Betak Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency. Data was collected
using primary data. Primary data was obtained by interviews, documentation and observation. The
informants for this research were 5 farmers who were selected using purposive sampling technique.
The data obtained was analyzed using 3 stages, namely the reduction stage, data presentation and
conclusion drawing. Then the results will be analyzed using James S. Coleman's rational choice
theory. The results of this research are that farmers in Betak village are farmers with a mixed
category (commercial and subsistence). Farmers implement rationality through two forms, namely
actors and resources. As an actor, farmers do this by working side jobs and borrowing money.
Meanwhile, the resources here are obtained by fertilizing on a limited basis and using manure.

point of view. The results of this study indicate that the most appropriate use of twitter in disseminating information about natural disasters is

The aim of this reasearch is to convey the message written in the CNN Indonesia report regarding

contained in the Sayan Tradition. Data collection techniques were conducted with in-depth
interviews, and literature studies, then analyzed using Emile Durkheim's social solidarity theory.
The results showed that the Sayan Tradition in Cangkring Hamlet is a real expression of the
concept of social solidarity, as expressed by Emile Durkheim. The Sayan tradition acts as a social
glue to achieve stability in human relations, social harmony, and becomes a solid foundation for

gen x community who are users in the facebook application. The number of this study resulted in fifteen
respondents who came from gen x, including our parents and their friends and based on our search for posts that
are stories of people affected by hoax news in the facebook application.The results of this study show that: (1) In
addition to the facebook application, so far it turns out that not only gen z but also gen x have used the tiktok and
snackvideo applications to find the latest information or news that occurs because they are considered more upto-date than the facebook application (2) The spread of hoax news in the facebook application is classified in the
high category because so far there are still many posts whose sources are unclear (3) The level of anxiety in
society is low because they often receive education from their children (gen z) (4) The level of deception of gen x
in the facebook application is moderate, this is based on the recognition of the respondents who told about their
personal experiences and those around them. Thus, it can be concluded that the hypothesis in the study can be
accepted, namely "There is an influence of hoax news circulation in the formation of public trust in the current

This research aims to explore the interpretation of students of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA)
towards the song "Secukupnya" by Hindia and to understand the emotional impact and messages
taken from the lyrics of the song. The research method used is qualitative with interviews as a data
collection tool. Seven respondents from various cultural backgrounds and personal experiences were
interviewed and analist lyric to gain diverse perspectives, The results of this study revealed that the
song "Secukupnya" had a strong emotional impact on the respondents, triggering feelings such as
confusion, anxiety, exhaustion, and hopelessness. The main themes that emerged in their
interpretations included social pressure, loss of relationships, nostalgia, escape from reality, and
hope. Each respondent took a unique meaning from these song lyrics, but there were similarities in
the messages about the importance of maintaining balance in life, facing challenges, and finding
happiness in relationships and friendships. This research has important implications in

results of interviews with seven students said that the thesis is the final assignment of students as a
graduation requirement, of the seven respondents agreed if the thesis was removed or replaced with
other tasks such as internships or projects that can train skills directly. And of the seven respondents
who have been interviewed in their study program, thesis is still required as a graduation
requirement. Therefore, this thesis should not be a requirement for graduation or the final
assignment of students but can also be replaced with internships or conducting research with
lecturers and becoming actors of characters who are not in the program.

why users use emojis that change their meaning. The method the author uses is qualitative
by interviewing several students who use online chat. The results of this research show that
the majority of young people agree and admit that they as online chat users always actively
use emojis in online chats and also reverse the meaning of theseemojis. This journal

had fatal consequences, namely death. One of the cases that occurred in Jeruk village was carried
out by teenagers who came from respected families. The purpose of this study was to find out the
role of the local village head in handling this case, and the views and beliefs of the community by
looking at the case. The method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach,
namely conducting observations and interviews with the surrounding community. The results of
this study indicate that the role of the local village head in handling this case is to join in appealing
to the local community to be wiser in holding events, especially until the early hours of the morning.
In addition, the village head also handled the case and helped solve it. The public's view and belief

Language is a tool that used by living creatures to interact with forms of communication with

are impolite, these words are called swearing. The most popular swearing word in Indonesia is
"jancuk". The word is derived from the East Java Province, hence it is a Javanese language. The
use of word "jancuk" will have a positive and negative impact on student communication.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to impress the impact of word "jancuk" in communication
between students. This study is qualitative. To obtain data on the purpose of this research, the
researchers interviewed several designated sources. The researchers classified their paradigm
as constructivism. The results that the researchers obtained showed that the use of word "jancuk"
in communication between students had a positive and negative impact. According to association
factor that is the most dominant factor in the use of this word, the word "jancuk" can have a
positive impact on the closer relationship between individuals. However, if used in inappropriate
contexts will adversely affect the student's image. In addition, it turns out that the use of word

the research we conducted on September 29 2023, the victims experienced toxicity in the Mobile Legends game in various
forms, one of which was their religion, ethnicity and physique being degraded. The toxic impact of irresponsible individuals

The phenomenon of street children is a clear illustration that the fulfillment of children's rights is still far from
expectations. Child development really requires the role of parents so that children's needs and rights can be
fulfilled properly. Social welfare problems demand the presence of the government as a problem solver and meet
the needs of People with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) in accordance with their duties and functions. As is
known that the function of social services is to organize social welfare programs including empowering vagrants,
beggars, and street children. Social services can be a substitute role for parents needed by street children in terms
of the necessities of life as well as so as to improve their standard of living. The purpose of this study is to find out
how the role of social services in tackling Street Children in Surabaya City and whether there are obstacles in
overcoming them. This research method is qualitatively descriptive. The data source is selected by purposive
sampling. Data collection techniques use interviews, observations, documents. This research uses the theory of
structural functionalism. The result of this study is the Social Service program in dealing with street children in
Surabaya City in the form of handling education in terms of knowledge, handling education in terms of skills,
handling education in terms of attitudes. The obstacle in overcoming street children who have received guidance
is the amount of laziness to learn and when they return to their environment tend to return to live on the streets and
carry out economic activities.

communicating with technology. This phenomenon certainly has a negative impact on the anxiety level of generation Z. This
research aims to reveal and prove a phenomenon that many generation Z currently experience, namely constant anxiety caused by the
use of social media, which has a negative impact on productivity and health levels. . This journal uses qualitative research. This
research uses a phenomenological approach method with a constructivist paradigm. This research analyzes the impact of social
media use on generation Z's anxiety levels. The results of this research prove that almost all generation Z have experienced or even still
often experience anxiety and restlessness when viewing social media content containing about someone's achievements or
successes, more specifically when viewing the content is from friends or people they know. From the results of interviews with 7
sources from Surabaya State University students who still belong to generation Z, new facts were discovered that Instagram is the
digital media platform that plays the most role in providing anxiety. This research will be useful for all generation Z as st udy

This research explores framing analysis in the background or context of news about fires in Mount
Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Mount Bromo is a tourist attraction, which often amazes
tourists and is one of the destinations for Indonesian tourists. However, behind the beauty of Mount
Bromo, it cannot be separated from very serious problems, one of which is the fire that occurred
several weeks ago. The fire that recently occurred on Mount Bromo was the work of individuals who
were irresponsible in preserving this beautiful nature. Mount Bromo was used as a pre-wedding
location by using flares so that the savanna area was burned to the ground due to misuse of the
tourist environment. This research uses a qualitative approach using Robert N. Entman's framing
analysis model. The objects used in this research are reporting from the online media News
Republika.com and Liputan 6.com. The results of this research are the selection of issues and the
highlighting of messages in each news frame from the media News Republika.com and Liputan

Plastic waste is an important environmental issue that continues to grow every year. Pollution from plastic waste can pose health
hazards and lead to natural disasters. To address this problem, awareness of reducing plastic usage is key, and social media,
particularly Instagram, has become an effective platform for plastic waste reduction campaigns. Instagram enables individuals,
organizations, and governments to disseminate information, educate, and change behavior through various content. The
effectiveness of Instagram as a platform for plastic waste reduction campaigns can be analyzed by specifying campaign goals and
methods. Therefore, the aim of this research is to identify which Instagram features are more effective for campaign delivery. This
article employs a qualitative approach, where evidence is not reliant on mathematical logic, numerical principles, or statistical
methods. The qualitative research objective is to understand human behavior and analyze its qualities, rather than converting it
into quantitative entities. Data collection methods used include literature review, with sources from 2 thesis titles and 4 article
titles. Data is analyzed using thematic analysis, where patterns in the phenomena are identified either inductively from raw
qualitative data or deductively based on existing theories or research. Instagram has proven to be a highly effective tool for
environmental campaigns. From the author's research findings, it is concluded that there are several ways to deliver campaigns
through various Instagram features, such as posts, users, captions, and account profiles. Among these features, posts are found to
be the most effective medium for campaign delivery based on the identified themes.

or can also be donated. Plasticpay itself is a digital platform-based social movement that invites
people to turn plastic waste that can damage the environment into useful and good. The collected
plastic waste will be exchanged into Plasticpay Points, then recycled and then converted into
granules, Recycled Polyester Staple Fiber ("Re-PSF"), yarn and fabric. The result of processing
plastic waste is in the form of Eco-friendly fiber and recycled fabrics that meet all high quality
standards that can be used for pillows, dolls, beds, carpets, furniture, and others. This article uses
a qualitative approach that aims to explore and understand the impact and implications of waste
management campaigns through the form of PlasticPay reverse vending machine technology.
Qualitative research methods are used as a framework to explore participants' perceptions,
attitudes, and experiences related to the campaign. This research involves collecting data using
literature studies and content analysis of related documents. Documents are selected purposively
from various media involving waste management campaigns through PlasticPay. Content analysis
is carried out to explore documents emerging from the media and allows to identify thematic
patterns and key concepts. The results of this study provide in-depth insights into the effectiveness
of PlasticPay in increasing community participation in plastic waste management. The
implications of these findings not only provide practical guidance for improvements to this
campaign, but also contribute to new understandings of how communities interact with
technological innovations in the context of waste management.

This research began with concerns about the large number of disaster reports dramatized by the
media. In the midst of an increasing trend of disaster events in Indonesia, the role of the media is
increasingly needed as a disseminator of information and education. However, in reality, it shows
the opposite. So important things that need to be informed are neglected. This research aims to
examine how online media is constructed in reporting the flash flood disaster in Blitar which
occurred in 2022. The method used is a qualitative research approach, in the form of literature
study, observation, documentation, and Robert N. Entman framing analysis. This research utilizes
Peter L. Berger's social construction theory and the sociology of disaster perspective as tools for
data analysis. The online media studied are Detik.com and Tribunnews.com. The findings show
that both news portals are developing frames with different views of the flood disaster in Blitar.
Results of problem definition analysis, Detik.com sees floods as a result of natural and man-made
events. While on Tribunnews.com, flood disasters are more described as purely natural events. At
the level of causal interpretation analysis, Detik.com frames the flood event as more caused by
irresponsible human activity, while Tribunnews.com interprets it as God's will. Both online news
portals gave moral evaluations that all parties must work together in dealing with this disaster.
However, calls or providing further and complete recommendations can be found
on Detik.com. The research conclusion shows that in the case of flooding in Blitar, Detik.com is
relatively better at performing the task of disaster journalism than Tribunnews.com.

Population administration has an important role in archiving various population events that occur in
a country. The importance of administration is sometimes not accompanied by public awareness in
orderly processing of these important documents. This can happen due to a lack of understanding and
bureaucratic difficulties in managing population administration. This is a special concern, especially
for the Surabaya City government in regulating the population administration documents of its
citizens through the Kalimasada program. Kalimasada is a program from the Surabaya City
Population and Civil Registration Department to create an environmental area where the community
is aware of population administration by simplifying services, namely making services at the lowest
level such as RT. This program is a new program so its existence must be disseminated to the
community through an outreach process. This then makes researchers interested in finding out how
important the socialization process is in creating a habitus for people who are aware of population
administration. The aim of this research is to find out the role of socialization in forming the habitus
of the Jambangan Village community who are aware of population administration. This research uses
qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and
documentation. The data was then analyzed using Pierre Bourdieu's theory about habitus and Peter
L Berger's theory about social construction. The results of the research show that socialization has a
role in internalizing awareness values regarding compliance with population administration
documents so as to form a conscious habitus of population administration in the Jambangan subdistrict community. This population awareness habit can be seen from the large number of residents
who take care of population administration documents both in the sub-district and at the RT/RW hall

In today’s developing modern era, coupled with the high mobility of students who are required to move quickly, the
emergence of transportation-based online applications such as GOJEK has become an important tool to support the
mobility of Surabaya State University students in meeting their various daily needs. This research uses a type of
qualitative research with a phenomenological approach and the paradigm used is constructivism. The data collection
technique used was through observation and in-depth interviews with 7 Surabaya State University students who used
the GOJEK application regularly. Thisresearch aims to find out why Surabaya State University students choose
GOJEK as a medium that makes it easier for them to meet their daily needs. The research results show that the GOJEK
application makes a significant contribution in facilitating Surabaya State University students’ access to
transportation, food and other services. This increases their time efficiency and reduces the burden of daily tasks. Apart
from that, this application also creates side job opportunities for some students who become GOJEK driver partners.
This research underlines the important role of the GOJEK application in increasing student mobility, by providing
more comfortable and efficient transportation options. Surabaya State University Students prefer GOJEK because this
application is more populer and was eshtablished earlier than other application. In conclusion, the GOJEK
application has become an indispensable mobility partner for students and is expected to provide valuable insight for
similar service providers to better understand student needs in this digital era.

The aim of this research is to identify signs of strict parenting in the film 'Bapak' shown by the father to the main
character Sari using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic model through representament, object and interpretant.
This type of research is qualitative in nature using semiotic analysis as a technique for data analysis. Semiotic
analysis is a branch of linguistics as an effort to find the meaning of signs or things hidden behind a sign
(advertising, news, films). Semiotics includes the analysis of language, images, gestures, or other objects to
communicate the message of a concept. Semiotic analysis in this research uses a theoretical perspective by
Charles Sanders Pierce with a trichonomy approach, namely representant, object and interpretant. The subject
studied was the film 'Bapak' produced by Paniradya Kaistimewan with the research object used being scenes that
show the strict parental side of the father character. The findings of the representation of strict parents based on
Charles Sanders Pierce's trichonomy provide an illustration that authoritarian parenting is a parenting style of
parents who have many rules for children. This parenting style is said to be a strict and harsh parenting style. This
parenting style is often said to be a restrictive parenting style, because all of the child's decisions are determined
by the parents so that the child feels they do not have the right to voice their opinions or desires. The film 'Father'

Kediri Nang culinary business which was founded in 2005 to the wider community and explore the
benefits of social media for MSME business owners. The discussion in this article is that the use of
social media to develop the MSME market can increase the competitiveness and selling power of
Kediri Nang Fried Rice in Lontar Village. In this research we used a qualitative descriptive method
by conducting direct question and answer interviews with business owners and recording research
activities. The results of this research show that the use of social media has good benefits in increasing
sales of MSME products in Lontar village. This is because the online marketing system provides
buying and selling opportunities which make the ordering and purchasing process easier for
consumers. Therefore, consumers can interact with MSME owners to make transactions online or
directly. For MSME business owners, social networks also function as an effective means of
communication and increase profits from business processes if information is developed consistently.

collect data from sources about how split bills affect their relationships. This research was
conducted at University of Surabaya with a total of 7 respondents, namely 5 men and 2 people
are women. After research was carried out and calculated according to the data analysis design,
the data showed that the respondents' responses to men who refused the split bill and were willing
to pay the full cost and were willing to split the bill, men tended to feel that their self-esteem was
measured by how they first looked at a woman, so that women began to feel that it is normal for
men to always pay for activities or meals, but there are also many men who feel it is normal to
split the bill or cut the food bill. The conclusion from the results of the research that researchers
obtained in the field is that men tend to have high self-esteem, especially in the eyes of their
partners regarding responsibility for costs, but it is not uncommon for women to feel that before

This article describes the representation of Javanese culture in the Rebo Wekasan tradition shown
in the film Inang. Data collection technique used is observation and documentation using sources
consisting of host films, data obtained from books, journals, archives, and so on. The object is a
representation of Javanese culture, namely the Rebo Wekasan tradition which is shown in pictures
and dialogues in the film Inang. This article uses qualitative descriptive research methods using
semiotic analysis techniques by Roland Barthes, with two stages of meaning: denotation and
connotation and relating it to a myth. The results showed that the traditional activities of Rebo
Wekasan carried out by the community were different from what was depicted in the film Inang. In
Inang, the tradition of Rebo Wekasan is depicted to throw bad luck for people born on the night of
the last Wednesday of the month of Safar according to the Hijri calendar and use tumbal babies who

The subjects of this study were 7 people, which we were able to find out through individual
interviews on the basis of questions we had prepared. The many experiences used in this study were
collected by interviewing the selected interviewees. The results show that self-esteem and hope
affect one's level of happiness. That is, one's happiness will be great if one has high self-esteem
and high hope. However, when you live in a toxic relationship, self-esteem and hope will decrease
which leads to low levels of happiness.

urbanization phenomenon occurring in Surabaya, especially among young people. The method used is qualitative
research with phenomenology theorized by Husserl. In the stages, eiditis reduction, phenomenological reduction
and transcendental reduction are carried out to determine the phenomena that occur. As a result, Husserl's
phenomenological analysis which focused on pure consciousness found that informants who were successfully
interviewed stated that they consciously chose the city of Surabaya as their place of migration to gain increased
knowledge so that, in their hopes, an improvement in the quality of their life could be created. Apart from that, in
the reduction stage it was also found that there was pure awareness obtained from the life experiences of the
perpetrators, thus creating new adjustments within themselves and completely refining their views on the

Contraception is an effort made by the Indonesian government to reduce the rate of population growth by delaying

contraceptive methods (MKJP) and non-MKJP. Based on this, the aim of this research is to determine the
determinants of contraceptive device selection by family planning acceptors in Wiyung Village. This research
utilizes descriptive qualitative methods using consumption behavior theory to analyze the factors that determine
the choice of contraceptives. The results of the research show that currently family planning acceptors tend to
choose non-MKJP family planning such as pills, injections and condoms, this is due to lack of knowledge about
MKJP, experience and history of use, motivation and perception that MKJP is still taboo. Therefore, maximum
efforts are needed by the government, family planning instructors and cadres to provide effective communication
to the community regarding family planning education.

Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ), people with disabilities, as well as religious groups that are 'often

Babies have the right to receive exclusive breastfeeding until the age of 6 months, and mothers have the obligation to
fulfill this right. However, some mothers are unable to provide exclusive breastfeeding to their infants due to various
reasons. Therefore, the existence of a breast milk donation program greatly helps breastfeeding mothers meet the
nutritional needs of their babies and utilizeexcess breast milk to prevent wastage. This research aims to encourage and
motivate breastfeeding mothers with surplus breast milk to consider donating it to babies in need. The study adopts a
phenomenological approach, collecting data through interviews with several participants to understand the motives of
donors in contributing their breast milk. The gathered data is then analyzed using thematic analysis. From the
conducted interviews, it was found that the three participants donated their breast milk directly when they had excess
production, driven by the desire to assist needy infants. The study concludes that the motivations that led these three
breastfeeding mothers residing in Malang to donate their surplus breast milk include the belief that breast milk donation
has various health benefits and fulfills the nutritional needs of infants, viewing it as an act of compassion, and
recognizing the surplus breast milk as a resource that can be utilized. This research hopes to inspire breastfeeding
mothers who have not yet participated in breast milk donation programs, encouraging them to understand the concept of
breast milk donation and start donating to ensure the nutritional well-being of infants in need.

Decentralization gives regions a lot of space to be creative and innovate both politically and
administratively. This opportunity was utilized by the city government in Nabire Province to meet
the basic needs of its citizens, namely increasing access and quality of public services in the
education sector. The local government responded to these demands. This is done through various
educational policies and innovative programs, the use of the concept of innovation in the
administration of regional government is of course appropriate to the latest developments in public
administration theory which places innovation as an effective tool and solution for solving
increasingly complex social problems. Empirically, in the world of education, there are phenomena
such as poor accessibility, high costs and also low quality of education, causing the low level of
education in Nabire's HDI to remain low. This phenomenon is the main reason why local
government innovation in the field of education is important. Based on this idea, this research was
conducted to answer two problem formulations and clarify the focus of the research, namely: (1) the
innovation program development process; (2) a typology of innovation programs was developed.
This research used a qualitative approach, data was obtained from interviews, observation and
documentation using spiral model data analysis. This research resulted in a process for developing
educational innovation programs through (1) a policy process (regulatory function) and a typology
of innovative programs, including Children's Education Studio (SPA), Free Education and
Education Working Group. The discussion uses research findings, especially theories and concepts
that are important for the development of innovation in the public sector, government discoveries
as a means of analyzing research findings. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be concluded
that there are several things that can be done, namely first, the process of developing educational
themed innovation programs is carried out through a political process, namely policy making
(regulation) and an administrative/management process, namely policy implementation
(management). Theoretically, apart from that, the policy formulation and innovation program
implementation process must also be carried out in a carefully innovative manner. The policymaking process of the regional government and DPRD in developing innovation must be carried
out democratically, participatively and responsively as well as in the management process.
Administration of regional bureaucracy and school units must also be carried out effectively and
efficiently and financially. Second, a good typology of government innovation programs comes from
internal and external regional government partners which are adopted by an innovation
reproduction strategy so that innovation programs in regional government like this do not last
forever containing the value of new discoveries (novels), but regional government innovation
programs must do the following. This has value in improving public services. Finally, based on the
three analysis findings above, research recommendations are made, namely: The development of
educational innovation programs must be supported by political processes and also innovation
management/management processes, innovation programs can be obtained from internal and
external management partners with replication strategies through approval processes, development
of local government innovation policies and programs can be effective in the short and long term

However, the reality is that not all interns who contribute to an institution or company can have

performance of intern students is through the implementation of Project Based Learning. Project
based learning is a method that encourages students to be able to think critically and creatively
based on projects initiated by individuals or groups who face certain situations adjusting the
internship location in relation to real work situations. This research aims to analyze the project
based learning method for internship students to improve student internship performance. The
reality in the field shows that internships are still often used as an agenda to fulfill academic
requirements alone, so that in their implementation there is still passive participation from the
students concerned. To avoid implementing internship programs that are carried out only for
formality, the project based learning method is one strategy in suppressing the passive
participation of internship students so that they can think critically and be proactive in facing the
challenges of the real world of work. This research was conducted using qualitative methods, with
a phenomenological approach. The data collection was carried out using questionnaires,
interviews and literature studies to strengthen research findings. The results of this research prove
that intern students feel they are not productive and tend to have low performance due to several

the male party and/or the parents of the female party may request dispensation from the
Religious Court on the grounds of extreme urgency with sufficient supporting evidence to
still carry out the marriage. This marriage dispensation requires the underage bride and
groom to undergo premarital counseling. Premarital counseling is usually facilitated by
the Religious Court, but in Madiun District premarital counseling is facilitated by the
Office of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child
Protection. This study aims to provide an overview of premarital counseling in an effort
to reduce the number of early marriage cases carried out at the Madiun Regency
Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection
(DPPKBPPPA) Office. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive
methods. Data collection was taken using observation, interview, and documentation
techniques. The results of this study indicate that premarital counseling facilitated by
DPPKBPPPA Madiun Regency in an effort to prevent early marriage functions as a
medium for maturing the age of couples. The pre-marital counseling that is carried out is
expected to provide a broader view to prospective brides regarding pre-marriage life.
Meanwhile, the decision to marry is returned to the prospective bride and groom and the
decision of the Religious Court regarding the granting of marriage dispensation.
Premarital counseling is required before obtaining marriage dispensation from the
Religious Court, with the aim of persuading underage couples not to marry before

As time goes by, consumers don't have to go to a store just to shop. People can encounter two
basic parts when shopping, namely shopping in stores (offline) and shopping outside the store
(online). The purpose of this study is to find what factors determine consumer satisfaction
when shopping online. The paradigm used in the Analysis of Female Customer Satisfaction
in Shopee Online Shopping is positivism. This research will explain the quantitative approach
research method. with a survey method that involves the use of questionnaires. The
questionnaire was created via google form and distributed to one hundred female respondents
who are Shopee users or have used Shopee for shopping. Researchers took a population of
100 respondents because they used the sample formula theory described by Wibisono
(Riduwan & Akdon, 2013). In the Product Quality indicator in this study, the average
calculation weight is 4.01 with the results of the TCR calculation of 80.2%, including good
criteria. The Service Quality indicator in this study received an average calculation weight of
3.99 with a TCR calculation result of 79.8% including good criteria. The Product Diversity
indicator in this study received an average calculation weight of 4.12 with the TCR
calculation result of 83.8% including good criteria. In the Repurchase Interest indicator in
this study, it gets an average calculation weight of 4.19 with a TCR calculation result of 82.4%

This research discusses the views of students on the news of the blocking of TikTok Shop. TikTok Shop itself has
become a hot topic of conversation among students, who are one of the platform's target markets. However, with
the news of the closure of TikTok Shop by the government, there were various responses in the mass media. This
study aims to analyze how students respond to the news about the closure of TikTok Shop and identify the
reception patterns that emerge in various circles of students. This research uses a qualitative approach with the
research method of Stuart Hall's reception analysis theory. The method used for data collection involves
interviewing eight students from various backgrounds and observing their interactions on social media. This
research uses Stuart Hall's reception theory, which classifies receptions into three positions: dominant
hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional. The results showed that the majority of students were in the
oppositional position. They do not agree with the government's blocking of TikTok Shop. The findings of this
study can serve as a basis for understanding different views in society related to similar issues and can be used
to design more effective communication strategies

itself has a shorter duration than the film but has many episodes. The Mendua series is one of the
Indonesian web series titles that is broadcast on the paid platform, namely Disney+ Hotsar. The
Mendua series is an Indonesian web series adapted from the American novel and series entitled
Doctor Foster. This series tells about the domestic conflict of the main character and also the
betrayal committed by those closest to the main character. This research aims to analyze the calm
attitude of the main character in facing and dealing with various problems in his life. The research
approach uses a descriptive study with a qualitative approach and uses semiotic analysis methods.
Data collection was carried out using semiotic analysis methods based on objects that are icons,
indices and symbols. The research results show that the main character, Sekar, has a calm attitude
in dealing with various conflicts and problems in the first to the final episodes. In the Mendua
series there is also an implicit message about feminism, namely that a career woman must also
be able to carry out her roles and duties perfectly as a wife and mother.

Semiotic analysis is an effort to find the meaning or signs of the things conveyed behind an advertisement, film or
news. Semiotics includes analysis of language, images, gestures or other objects to communicate or convey
messages from the plot. This use of semiotic analysis uses Charles Sander Pierce's theory as support for the
representant, object, interpretant approach. The subject and object being analyzed is a public service
advertisement entitled ‘Jangan Golput dan Gunakan Hak Pilihmu! Pada Pemilu 2024 ya!’ produced
by the Central Java Provincial Government and Central Java KPU with image footage in the form of scenes or

This study aims to describe the Perceptions of Communication Science Students in Gender Equality. The
term gender refers to social, cultural and biological meanings. The gender perspective leads to a view
or understanding of the role of women separated by nature and gender roles that are determined socially
and culturally. Gender differences will become a problem if they result in unequal treatment in society
and injustice in rights and opportunities for both men and women. The research method employed in this
study was phenomenology, involving direct interviews with a sample of 5 communication science students
from Surabaya State University. These interviews encompassed questions related to their perceptions
regarding:1) the concept of gender equality, 2) actions that can be taken to promote gender equality
within the academic environment, 3) the possibility of inclusivity of all genders in all aspects, and
4) ideas for normalizing gender equality. The gathered data were thematic data. The research findings
indicated that the majority of communication science students possessed a fundamental
understanding of gender equality, but there remained variations in their perceptions of this issue. Factors
such as education, personal experiences, and media influences played a role in shaping their viewpoints.
Based on the research, the students expressed a desire to actualize gender equality through actions they
would take to promote it and eliminate the patriarchal culture that still persists in someone's outlook or
perception. Communication science students felt that they played a crucial role in advancing and
continually driving gender equality forward. They regarded themselves as individuals who would bring
about change that could influence others' perspectives and attitudes toward this issue.

This research examines the perceptions of residents of Kandangan Village, Surabaya City, regarding the Sedekah
Bumi initiative as a representation of East Javanese tradition and culture. In this study, a qualitative approach
was used to collect data from three subjects who actively participated in Sedekah Bumi activities. Data was
collected through observation and research focused on understanding the subjective experiences of individuals in
the context of the project at hand. The results showed that the Sedekah Bumi celebration in Kandangan Village
symbolizes the community's understanding of the benefits of blessings and favors given by Allah SWT through
crops. In addition, this activity has strong religious and cultural values. It involves time calculations carried out
by village elders as part of the tradition before its implementation. In addition to religious matters, the Earth Alms
celebration in Kandangan Village also includes social activities such as recitation and orphan compensation. This
enhances a sense of solidarity and camaraderie with one another while also sustaining the ongoing project. The
folk entertainment included in the campaign also highlights traditional East Javanese gamelan dances and music.
The Sedekah Bumi festival also has a bazaar that benefits the locals economically and serves as a day of dance for

improve program effectiveness, it is important to evaluate adolescent nutrition education
promotion strategies. With an accurate and careful evaluation, shortcomings and appropriate

the consequences that may follow. Family communication is a fundamental and critical activity within

by parents as an expression of love for their children, serving to monitor and assist in their transition
into adulthood. Focusing on the context of family communication, this research aims to uncover the
motives behind adolescent delinquency within the framework of family communication. It seeks to
delve deeper into how family communication can influence adolescent behavior, particularly in the
context of delinquency. The research employs a qualitative phenomenological approach, involving
interviews with four participants and analyzing the findings through thematic analysis.The results of

The rapid development of technology is one of the things that supports the closeness of technology to life. Likewise with the
widespread use of social media. Nowadays, social media can be a place to channel anything, including giving positive
messages. Proper use of media can increase awareness of the conditions around us. One of them is environmental
cleanliness awareness which has been carried out by the Pandawara Group through TikTok. Pandawara Group is a group
of youth consisting of five people. The aim of this research is to analyze the messages on Pandawara's TikTokaccount.
Qualitative research method, content analysis which allows the author to describe the environmental awareness message
by the Pandawara group on its TikTok account. The data from this research were obtained from 15 videospublished
by the Pandawara TikTok account in August 2023. The results of the research obtained were that there were 5 gang
message patterns identified by researchers including environmental cleanliness, the spirit of nationalism, the role of
individuals and collaboration, enthusiasm and inspiration, and response to environmental emergencies. Of the five
message patterns obtained, there were three message patterns that were explored further by researchers. The conclusion
of this research is to understand and interpret the message contained.

People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) play a crucial role in the HIV/AIDS transmission chain.
This study aims to describe the portrayal of behaviors in upholding justice against the negative
stigma faced by HIV/AIDS patients in the film "Philadelphia." This research employs a qualitative
approach with Saussure's semiotic method. Data collection techniques involve watching,
observing, note-taking, and analyzing data present in the film "Philadelphia." The sources of data
are derived from two components: (1) the film "Philadelphia" as the research object and (2)
literature such as textbooks and relevant journals pertaining to the research topic. The results of
the study on the film reveal the profound impact of discrimination against PLWHA and underscore
the importance of addressing this stigma. The public's lack of understanding about HIV/AIDS at
the time led PLWHA to be reluctant to share information about their condition. Often, the public
had misconceptions about the transmission of HIV/AIDS, further fueling the stigma and rejection
of PLWHA. Accurate knowledge about transmission risks and prevention is a crucial step in
changing public behavior. "Philadelphia" also highlights the significant role of community figures
and the media in altering perceptions about HIV/AIDS. Community figures can influence public
opinions and behaviors, while the media plays a significant role in disseminating accurate
information. The film teaches us that with collective effort and proper understanding, we can
create a more inclusive and supportive community for PLWHA.

Nowadays social media has become an inseparable part of the daily lives of teenagers and children. Excessive and
unsupervised use can negatively impact a child's social, emotional, and academic development. Therefore, the role of parents
in supervising and guiding the use of social media by children is very important. The existence of this study aims to
explore the communication patterns used by parents in monitoring their children's social media use. This research uses a
qualitative approach through phenomenological methods. Collected data using an in-depth interview method of four parents
from different economic and social backgrounds, who have children aged 12 years. The results showed that there were
differences in communication methods used by parents. There are main patterns that emerge, including limiting use, controlling
by checking children's social media and a combination of both. Parents tend to control by limiting their children's access
to social media and managing screen time by providing schedules. It also revealed that open communication between parents
and children is important in monitoring social media use. Open parents create a healthy child growth environment and are
more vigilant in supervising social media use. The results of this study were obtained from in-depth interview data from four
parents with different backgrounds of views on the role of parents in managing their children's social media use. The
implications of these findings could help educators, counselors, and other parents to better understand how they can help
their children use social media in healthy and responsible ways.

research uses a critical paradigm research method which is defined as an alternative paradigm related
to societal goals that criticizes and justifies the status quo in society and provides alternative
knowledge to produce a better social order. This research also uses qualitative research methods,
namely semiotics. Semiotics is a scientific discipline and analytical method that can examine the signs
contained in an object to find out the meaning contained in that object. The application of semiotics in
the film 'Titik Koma' is by dissecting and analyzing each scene which becomes the outline and problem
point in the film. The film 'Titik Koma' was originally just to fulfill an assignment, but was included in

Greenpeace Indonesia responds to the Jakarta pollution problem firmly. Greenpeace Indonesia also took quite bold actions by

Protection programs for women and children are an important agenda that needs to continue to be improved,
especially at the community level. As a socio-community organization that cares about social issues, the Surabaya
City Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) has a strategic role in supporting protection for these vulnerable groups.
Several programs have been implemented such as legal counseling, violence victim counseling, and advocacy for
regulatory changes. However, challenges continue to develop in line with social dynamics. Therefore, this study aims
to evaluate the communication strategies applied by Karang Taruna in its efforts to support the protection of women
and children. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through in-depth
interviews with the head of protection and field staff. Document analysis was also conducted in the form of activity
reports, program documents, and social media uploads. The findings show that the strategies applied include
increasing active community participation, cross-sector collaboration between government and NGOs, and utilization
of digital technology to disseminate information. This has had an impact on increasing public awareness and their
participation in programs. However, new challenges remain as the times change. Therefore, continued innovation is
needed, such as strengthening regulations, increasing HR capacity, and empowering digital volunteers. The results of
this study are expected to provide an overview of effective communication practices in supporting community
protection, as well as inspiring similar efforts in other areas. Thus, the important role of Karang Taruna in this agenda
can continue to be sustainable and beneficial.

This study aims to find out how the utilization of social media carried out by the Indonesian Volunteer
Community in an effort to empower the Surabaya Community to help increase the productivity of the
people in Surabaya. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach,
data collection is done by observation and interviews. Observations were made by observing how the
content template was created by the MRI (Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia) Surabaya media team and
knowing how the evaluation process took place. Interviews were conducted with 3 resource persons
who are active members and administrators of MRI. From the results of the research, information
was obtained that MRI uses social media as a way to empower the community. MRI actively utilizes
social media as a means of promoting their community empowerment programs. They also use social
media to gather new volunteers who are interested in contributing to their programs. Through a
quantitative research method with a case study approach, a detailed description of how MRI utilizes
social media in conducting community empowerment programs is obtained. The results of this study
are expected to be a reference in the utilization of social media to increase social empowerment
through social communities. The benefits of the academic results of this research are a source of
supporting reference for future researchers, when using the same concept and the same research
basis, especially regarding the use of social media as a means of community empowerment. This
research brings benefits to donors, namely how to choose a trustworthy and responsible social
community organization. The social organization Masyarakat relawan Indonesia utilizes several
social media as a means of community empowerment, fundraising and also sharing evidence of its
activities. Researchers also hope that this research can help researchers to understand how the role
of social media can be very efficient in the context of information dissemination, especially in today's
digital era where the use of social media is one of the effective waysto contribute to community
empowerment.

This article aims to describe the persuasion message of environmental conservation through the
lyrics in Raisa's song "Nyawa dan Harapan". Music as one of the art means of conveying messages
has the opportunity for music activists to persuade listeners through beautiful melodies and
harmonies. This research uses a qualitative approach that details semiotic analysis as an effort to
analyze the data. Semiotic analysis is one of the linguistic sciences to get the meaning of signs or
things hidden behind a sign. Semiotics includes the analysis of language, images, gestures, or other
objects, to communicate the message of a concept. The semiotic analysis used in this research is
the theoretical perspective by Roland Barthes which analyzes the meaning of signs through the
meaning system, denotative, connotative, and meta-language. The subject studied is the song
"Nyawa dan Harapan" by Raisa. The object of research is the meaning that discusses the
persuasion of environmental conservation. The results of the analysis show that the lyrics of the
song "Nyawa dan Harapan" carefully build messages related to environmental conservation
through the use of language both metaphorical, imaginative, and emotive. The song "Nyawa dan
Harapan" by Raisa describes the beauty of nature, threats to the environment, and calls to action
in lyrics that inspire, motivate, and touch the hearts of listeners. The song is accompanied by music
that plays an important role in human life, not only as entertainment but also as a diverse means
of communication. In the midst of environmental destruction, Raisa's lyrics "Water is rarer than
tears" illustrate the importance of maintaining a balance between the needs of nature and humans
and our role in preserving the planet. an art form that also reflects emotion, identity, and a call to
action to protect the universe we live in. In the end, it can be concluded that the call to preserve
the environment can not only be done with an explicit campaign, but also through implicit messages
such as through a song. People are expected to understand the implied message of the song so that
it makes them more concerned about the environment in which they live.

companies to develop their products and services in digital form. One of the print media that is
being challenged in this digital era is magazines. Magazines are one of the mass media which now
also have to adapt to changes in this era of digitalization. Adaptation is of course important for
the continued existence of the magazine. Of the many magazines that can be discussed, the author
uses Girl Magazines as the main topic. Girl Magazine is an Indonesian youth magazine that has
been published for 35 years. Girl Magazine was popular in the 90s and 2000 era. At that time, this
magazine discussed trends for women ranging from beauty, films, novels, songs, etc. Apart from
that, Girl Magazine also discussed clothing trends represented by the lifestyles of artists at that

Culture is the result of the survival of the nation's people. The implementation of culture seen in
people's lives is also very diverse and one of them is the tradition that is still carried out by the
community. Tradition becomes one form of culture that is passed down continuously. The same is
the case with the tradition of mendhak nyanggring found in Tlemang village, Ngimbang District,
Lamongan Regency. Tlemang Village as a remote area with minimal accessibility has a tradition
that is still thick in the life of the village community, and they usually call the tradition mendhak
nyanggring ceremony. This ceremony has its own uniqueness. However, many outsiders currently
do not know about it. Seeing this, the purpose of this study was to find out the origin, process to
the meaning contained in the mendhak nyanggring ceremony. The research design used in this
study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological perspective. Data collection in this
study used participant observation techniques and literature studies. The types and sources of
data needed in this study are primary and secondary data, where primary data are obtained from
the results of participant observation. Meanwhile, secondary data is obtained from several Sinta
(Science and Technology Index) indexed articles that are relevant to the study of the problems
raised, so as to encourage the success and effectiveness of the substance of the discussion of this
article. The results of this study are: (1) The Mendhak Ceremony, which is held every year, is
currently preserved so that people in the village can take the meaning contained therein; (2) The
meanings of this mendhak ceremony can be seen from the symbols in the existing ceremonial

are tempted by the salary to meet their living needs. Working as a Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) is
a shortcut they take. Many cases of exploitation occurred in these promotional activities. This
activity is still widely carried out in big cities, because a Sales Promotion Girl (SPG) is able to
boost the sales targets set by the company. The societal stigma seems to give social sanctions to an
SPG by considering them trivial. In fact, it is not uncommon for people around to make bad
assumptions about work as a Sales Promotion Girl (SPG). However, if you analyze it more deeply,
not all SPGs have the same image as other people say. Because each individual has their own
perspective. This research aims to change people's views about the work of an SPG, exploring
what factors influence them to do this work and what forms of exploitation are carried out by

Primary data was obtained through interviews using a qualitative approach. The research results
show that many SPGs are negatively impacted by the exploitation that occurs.

In this life, communication is something that should not be missed. As social creatures, we need
to interact with the people around us, including children with special needs. Children with
special needs are children who are different physically, mentally-intellectually, socially,
emotionally, behaviorally or in combination in their growth process compared to other children
their age so that they require special education services. As a teacher, a little extra effort is
required. In other words, teachers must be able to share their hearts, thoughts and feelings so
that effective communication can occur. This research aims to analyze communication patterns
in teacher relationships with children with special needs at SLB Tunas Kasih. The research
subjects were a teacher and a child with special needs at SLB Tunas Kasih. Through the
interviews that were carried out, research data was finally obtained. The results of the research
show that there are four important discussions that can be used as recommendations to teachers
and parents of children with special needs, namely: Communication patterns used, how to
communicate so that students can easily accept them, how to deal with student tantrums when
communicating, and obstacles in communicating with children with special needs. Appropriate
communication patterns can help teachers to establish positive relationships with children with
special needs, so that they are able to provide effective and meaningful learning.

provides a description of what was studied in the form of a narrative description. The discussion

Poverty is one of the social problems that still occurs in Indonesia. One of the causes of poverty is due to abundant
human resources and this is coupled with a low level of quality of human resources, giving rise to various
limitations in knowledge, skills and activities carried out. This can have an impact on limitations in employment
opportunities resulting in someone not having a job or being unemployed. The city of Surabaya is the capital of
East Java and is one of the largest cities after DKI Jakarta, but the poverty level of the people in Surabaya is still
widely found. So the government is making efforts to help alleviate existing poverty by establishing the PNM
Mekaar program which is aimed at underprivileged women to be able to develop businesses that are currently
being pioneered. The aim of this research is to describe the background of the people who participate in the PNM
Mekaar program. Apart from that, to explain the subjective and objective meaning of the PNM Mekaar program
in alleviating poverty that occurs in the Surabaya area. The method in this research uses qualitative with a case
study approach which is connected to social construction theory. All forms of information were obtained through
observation, interviews and journals as reference material in previous research. The results of this research show
the subjective meaning and objective meaning of the people who participate in the PNM Mekaar program.

the people and shall be exercised according to the Constitution". The purpose of this study is to
determine the characteristics of election violations in Blitar Regency and how Bawaslu's role is
to prevent future election violations. The method used in this research is normative legal
research, normative legal research methods or library law research methods are methods or
methods used in legal research by examining existing library materials. Election violations are
acts prohibited by the Election Law against election organizers which result in the imposition
of sanctions for these violations. The enactment of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General
Elections regulates various types of violations, disputes, criminal acts and election disputes.
Election crimes are criminal offenses that are punishable by certain penalties under the criminal
justice system. The purpose of elections is to implement the sovereignty of the people and the
realization of the people's political rights to produce leaders who will occupy important

This research has the main aim of exploring the poor community's views on the services provided
by the Community Health Center in Wiyung, Surabaya. The data collection method used involved
field research, which included observation and in-depth interviews with 10 purposive sampling.
The collected data was then analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the
research reveal that the public has a positive view of the Wiyung Community Health Center in
various aspects of service. This includes efficiency in administrative services, including careful
examination and providing transparent information to patients. Puskesmas employees are also
assessed as maintaining good standards of action and providing services at a satisfactory speed.
Apart from that, outpatient services at the Wiyung Community Health Center are considered
adequate, especially in terms of administering medication according to the patient's disease
diagnosis. Referral services have also received praise, with community health centers able to refer
patients to hospitals with complete facilities if necessary. The information provided to patients in
the referral process is considered easy to understand. Thus, the conclusion that can be drawn from
this research is that the poor society has a positive view of the quality of services provided by the
Wiyung Community Health Center, including important aspects such as administration, outpatient
care and referrals.

This research aims to analyze the representation of tomboy in "Imperfect: career, love & balance" by
Meira Anastia directed by Ernest Prakasa. This research uses Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic
method. The reason the researchers analyzed Imperfect: career, love & balance is because this film is
a cinematic work that describes the journey of a young woman named Rara who is in a state of
insecurity because of her appearance. In this movie, several tomboy characters are shown which will
be the researcher's analytical study. This research reveals how the tomboy character in "Imperfect:
career, love & balance" is not only a physical representation of tomboy, but also has deeper meanings
about the context of the story. Through semiotic analysis, the researcher understands that the tomboy
characters fight for their unique identities and provide messages about self-acceptance and the
importance of breaking free from gender stereotypes. The movie received seven nominations at the 2020
Bandung Film Festival. The representation of tomboys in the movie Imperfect: career, love & scales
uses qualitative methods and semiotic analysis as its approach. Researchers use Charles Sanders
Pierce's triangle of meaning model, which consists of sign, object, and interpretant. Researchers will
select pieces of scenes in the film that represent tomboys using tri angel meaning analysis. Research on

This study examines the phenomenon of communication strategies between idols and fans in Kpop, using Seventeen as an example of a group successfully implementing these strategies.
Founded by Pledis Entertainment in 2015, Seventeen is known not only for their energetic music
and complex choreography but also for their active participation in the creative process. They
have not merely established typical relationships with fans but have successfully created a
cohesive and dedicated community. This success is supported by unique communication
strategies, including active use of social media and special events to promote new albums.
Through a qualitative approach and literature review of six scholarly articles, two main
strategies employed by Seventeen were identified: leveraging social media and organizing
special events. This research contributes insights into how Seventeen communicates with fans to
promote their new albums.
