Suicidal ideation among adolescents is a complex mental health issue influenced by various psychological and spiritual determinants. To examine how self-management and religiosity influence suicidal ideation and to clarify the mediating role of mental health in this relationship this study employed a quantitative design using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with a sample of 337 adolescent respondents. The results indicate that both self-management and religiosity enhance mental health, while mental health, self-management, and religiosity all contribute to reducing suicidal ideation. Furthermore, mental health plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between self-management, religiosity, and suicidal ideation. These findings suggest that self-management and religiosity can serve as protective factors acting both directly and indirectly through improved mental health to reduce the likelihood of adolescents developing suicidal thoughts. This study highlights the importance of preventive strategies that integrate individual capabilities such as self-management and mental health with constructive religious resources, thereby effectively preventing suicidal ideation among adolescents.
