Peer Review Process

Perr Review Process

The peer review process begins with paper submission through the official ICST 2026 submission system. Each manuscript will first undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to check its suitability with the conference scope, manuscript format, English quality, similarity level, ethical compliance, and relevance to the publication venue.

Qualified manuscripts will then be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind review system. The evaluation criteria include originality, scientific contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to earth and environmental science, and contribution to green technology and Sustainable Development Goals.

Based on the review results, the manuscript may be accepted, accepted with minor revision, accepted with major revision, or rejected. Revised papers must be resubmitted for further evaluation before the final acceptance decision. Only accepted and presented papers that meet all publication requirements will be processed for publication in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES).

This structure follows the ISOPA-style peer review model in the uploaded example, which includes submission, initial screening, reviewer assignment, double-blind review, editorial decision, author revision, final evaluation, presentation, and publication preparation.

Articles

All submitted manuscripts must meet the following criteria:

  1. Good scientific quality.
  2. Relevant to the scope of ICST 2026.
  3. Written in proper academic English.
  4. Original and unpublished elsewhere.
  5. Clear research problem, method, result, and conclusion.
  6. Strong relevance to SDGs, green technology, earth science, or environmental science.
  7. Supported by valid data, references, and appropriate research methods.
  8. Prepared according to the IOP Conference Series template and author guidelines.
  9. Presented at ICST 2026 by at least one registered author.
  10. Free from plagiarism, duplicate submission, and unethical publication practices.

All manuscripts must pass similarity checking before review. Manuscripts with high similarity, weak scientific quality, irrelevant topics, or ethical issues may be rejected during the initial screening stage.

Authors

The corresponding author must ensure that all listed co-authors have made a real contribution to the manuscript. All authors must approve the final version of the paper before submission.

The corresponding author is responsible for:

  1. Submitting the manuscript through the official system.
  2. Ensuring that the manuscript follows the IOP template.
  3. Checking grammar, formatting, references, tables, and figures.
  4. Responding to reviewer comments.
  5. Submitting the revised manuscript on time.
  6. Ensuring that the paper is presented at ICST 2026.
  7. Confirming that the paper has not been submitted or published elsewhere.

IOP states that authors should prepare papers in final form before submission, and papers should follow the required Word or LaTeX template before conversion to PDF. IOP also notes that authors should not submit papers directly to IOP Publishing, but should follow the conference organizer’s submission instructions.

Publication Ethics

ICST 2026 applies publication ethics to maintain academic integrity. The conference does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission, improper authorship, citation manipulation, or any form of academic misconduct.

The review process will give fair and unbiased consideration to all manuscripts. Reviewers must provide clear recommendations and constructive comments to support editorial decisions. IOP’s conference organiser guidance states that peer review for IOP Conference Series papers is managed by the organisers and proceedings editors, and that reviewers must give clear recommendations supported by comments.
