Abstract

Bullying comes from the word bully, which is a word that refers to a threat made by someone to another person, which
causes psychological or physical disturbances for the victim, such as stress, physical pain, depression, and others. Lately,
news of bullying cases on social media has happened again, which happened to a singer, namely Brisia Jodie. Social
media is a place where new communication processes have a big impact on bullying behavior on social media (Cyber
Bullying) among teenagers. This study uses the phenomenological method because this study discusses the case of
cyberbullying experienced by an artist named Brisia Jodie and uses the perspective of psychodynamic theory. Based on
the results of this study, students' perceptions of cyberbullying are very important considering that the millennial
generation is generally characterized by the use and familiarity with social media. The millennial generation has
changed the way they look, think, and behave with each other. Things that were originally not worthy of being a joke
or things that should not be a joke have become commonplace for many people. This is the reason the author is
interested in explaining and describing social media as a place for bullying cases to occur, and how the influence factors
and impacts arising from bullying treatment on victims, as well as providing some real examples of bullying treatment
on social media that occur in Indonesia.
