Abstract

Beauty standards are often debated in society. About how to look neat and beautiful to look at. However, the obstacle is that
when times have changed, the trends in beauty and style of appearance also changed. In the current era of digitalization, many
people use social media as a place to express opinions and find work. For example, influencers, which in this case are beauty
influencers. These Influencers play a role in changing the way of appearance and beauty standards. Especially for today's society,
women often follows trends and afraid of being left behind known as FOMO, is the reason why the role of social media is very
large in socio-cultural development, especially in terms of beauty standards which are very uncertain. Where most of the women
follow the trend of hits on social media and then affect their perception or perspective on the beauty standards that have been
adopted so far. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, which describes the experience that comes from the object of
research. Made systematically and in accordance with the data that has been collected using survey methods and non-probability
sampling techniques, it is intended that the results of the research are in accordance with the object of study, namely the
perception of women. So the researchers only looked for female correspondents to collect data. The survey shows that most women are inspired by the beauty standards that exist on social media. Most of them have a beauty mecca on social media, namely Tasya Farasya. A beauty vlogger who often creates content on her Youtube channel which then inspires a number of women.
