Abstract

Advances in existing technology provide convenience for many people in carrying out various activities, one of which is in the field
of education. The occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic some time ago caused changes in the implementation of teaching and
learning activity. Online learning must be done to prevent the spread of the pandemic. As long as teaching and learning activities
are carried out online, the provision of digital books is carried out to facilitate learning activities. The provision of digital books is
also expected to improve the existing literacy culture. With this happening, this research was carried out to find out how much
influence the use of digital books had in the world of education. In addition, this study was also conducted to determine interest in reading and the time required to complete a reading book. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review. The results show that the use of digital books to develop literacy is still not effective enough.
