Abstract

Currently, it is very difficult to find millennial youth who want to become farmers or work in the agricultural sector. Since the
development of technology has increased, millennials are reluctant to become farmers because, according to them, they are not by their interests and also do not want to grow crops, which on average tend to be interested in the office, service, economy, and
business sectors. In this case, it can result in the threat of sustainability in food and, along with the development of education levels in rural areas, young people in villages also choose to work in urban companies because young people in rural areas think that being a farmer has no future. The higher the education level of youth in rural areas, the more selective they are in choosing jobs. They are reluctant to work in rural areas because of a mismatch between their skills and education level and the availability of jobs. Millennials who open their eyes to the world of Indonesian agriculture and not only that, millennials are expected to be able to develop in the agricultural sector with innovations accompanied by technological developments and existing globalization and be able to compete well. In this case, it can result in the threat of sustainability in food and, along with the development of education levels in rural areas, young people in villages also choose to work in urban companies because young people in rural areas think that being a farmer has no future. explaining solutions through communication as well as movement through social media convergence and balance by diving into the thought of the barrier wall for millennial youth. The result is a problem of crisis and consideration as well as the stigma of youth and millennials that must be addressed and straightened out to avoid a future labor crisis in the agricultural sector in Indonesia.
