Analisis Resepsi Transgender Dalam Film “Lovely Man”

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the interpretation and reception of the audience or moviegoers and is useful for
knowing the position of the audience who put forward transgender in the film "Lovely Man". The film "lovely
Man" which tells the story of a father who becomes a drag queen and a child who misses his father. The reason
why saepul (ipuy) the father of light decided to become a transvestite in the capital city of Jakarta, not only
because of economic demands because their family belongs to the lower middle class. However, because of the
pure desire of the little heart ipuy to be a woman. Actually, since childhood, ipuy has had an attraction to being
a woman. It is proved that in this movie, she likes to dress up menor and wear clothes like a seducer woman.
This study analyzes transgender people in Lovely Man and the moral messages contained in the film. The
results obtained from the research used in the Lovely Man film, namely that what researchers can take are some
scenes that contain moral messages. The moral message contained in it The film "my lovely man" includes
negative and positive messages such as responsibility, affection, forgiveness, selfishness, honesty, do not run away
from problems, regrets, despair, motivation. this lovely man movie is quite controversial in society. Because
transgender people are considered different. In Indonesian society, patriaki culture is deeply rooted. Where men
dominate more in decision making and attitudes in society. This makes the tansgenders whose positions are
increasingly cornered.
