Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the reasons for women to delay marriage. This research shows that women's fear of marriage is influenced by various factors, including uncertainty about the future, trauma from bad experiences and there are still many men who adhere to Patriarchy, making women more selective in choosing men. Many women are now delaying marriage to focus more on career and personal goals, feeling that marriage will threaten women's independence. Unrealistic expectations also contribute to this fear, with many women pressured by expectations to marry at a certain age. Experiences of family disharmony can also add to marriage anxiety. By understanding these motives, it is hoped that it can provide a deep insight into the dynamics of marriage and life choices of women today. This study uses the Phenomenological method to explore information on the motives of women who are afraid of getting married at the age of 30-35 years.
