The police as an institution that is also related to law in Indonesia are obliged to apply the law in everyday life. The close
relationship between the police and the law creates a perception that the police are able to provide examples and appropriate
actions to implement the existing laws in Indonesia. Reality shows that the application of law in life does not always run
smoothly because it will involve the rights and obligations of individuals who are related to the social life of the community.

the arrest of the East Java Police Chief related to the case of buying and selling drugs led to various student perceptions
of the image of the police. Data findings indicate that some students cannot provide an objective assessment of the image
of the police because they have never dealt directly with the police. However, the subject received stimuli that helped to have
a perception of the image of the police. there are research subjects who trust the police. However, it was also found that
subjects still believed in the police because they thought that the violations that had occurred were the work of individuals.
