The purpose of this study is to determine the reception of the general public, especially undergraduate, regarding
the disclosure of the ideas of presidential candidates in 2024, related to the Mata Najwa broadcast at UGM on
September 19, 2023. This has been aired on Mata Najwa YouTube with 9.38 million followers and watched around
6,876,840 times on Mata Najwa YouTube. The research method this time uses the reception method, which means
that reception analysis is one of the research methods in media studies that shows the unique relationship between
the media and its audience. Media studies itself with its various varieties seeks to shape human choices, in this
journal especially to determine the choice of 2024 presidential candidates through the delivery of ideas and the
debate itself. The steps in the reception method are to see how the debate of the three bacapes ideas goes, asking
fellow students who finally get in-depth interviews, namely several students. The results of this study found the
conclusion that most students preferred the ideas conveyed by Mr. Prabowo Subianto. They argued that Mr.
Prabowo has a good track record, especially in the military, which can be applied in leadership that is firm in
responding to problems. In delivering his ideas, Mr. Prabowo is also more focused on delivering ideas that are
straightforward and not wordy, opening up freedom of speech, and opening up more opportunities for young
people.
