Perubahan Perilaku Remaja Akibat Determinasi Teknologi di Indonesia

Abstract

In today's digital era, there has been a shift in the communication behavior of teenagers. These changes can be
seen in everyday life, such as the lack of face-to-face interaction due to the presence of gadgets. This phenomenon
also occurs in teenagers. Face-to-face communication should be a problem when two people meet and sit close
together. In reality, face-to-face communication is not fluent, leading to many misunderstandings about what is
being sent to the communicator while playing with their devices. This study aims to describe the communication
behavior of teenagers and to look at the degradation of interface communication that occurs. This research shows
that there are changes in interactions that include communication between teenagers, in terms of language, such as,
in addition to changes in the ease of communication that have an impact on the younger generation. Based on the
results of the analysis conducted, it can be seen that most teenagers now have two lives that they live every day,
namely life in the virtual world and the real world.The development of modern electronic media technology, for
example, has brought individuals together in a more instant network called the global village, especially today's
millennials who are never separated from their smartphones on a daily basis. Modern media technology, especially
Internet television, has obscured the geographical and cultural boundaries between one country and another. In this
condition, it creates a user society in a new state of "hyper-reality" that is virtually integrated. The theories used are
behavioral communication, interpersonal communication, adolescent communication, new media. This research
analyzes the communication behavior of teenagers in the digital era based on several informants
