Abstract

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues have become a significant topic of
conversation in Indonesian society, creating diverse views and debates. Online media, as one of
the main sources of information, plays an important role in shaping people's understanding and
views on these social issues. This article aims to analyze how online media, particularly detik.com
and kompas.com, frame LGBT issues in their coverage. The focus of this research is to understand
the framing used by the two media outlets and its impact on people's perceptions of LGBT. This
research adopts the media framing theory first proposed by Robert N. Entman. This framing
theory emphasizes how the media has an important role in choosing certain aspects of an issue to
present to the audience, as well as how these framing choices affect readers' or viewers'
understanding. In this context, this research focuses on analyzing the impact of the use of Framing
in the media on the constructivist paradigm. The constructivist paradigm refers to the view that
social reality is not only discovered, but also constructed through social interaction, language and
symbolic representation. Therefore, in this analysis, we used a statistical approach method to
measure the impact and influence of media framing on constructivist understanding of the issue
