Abstract

With the widespread popularity of various social networking sites nowadays, especially Facebook,
this media is very popular with the public because it is not only used as a means of personal blogging
but also as a means of promoting their business. Facebook is quite effective because it can reach
consumers all over the world due to the development of internet media. Some traders who use the
marketplace from Facebook can achieve profits and success, so that it can be used as an example
and an interesting learning perspective in running an online business by utilizing the social
networking site on Facebook. So that data on this problem can be answered and explored accurately,
a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method is used. The aim of this research is to
analyze the effectiveness of Facebook marketing media, goods and products sold on Facebook,
experience of using Facebook, advantages and disadvantages of Facebook marketing media. The
research results show that Facebook is more effective because it is easier to attract customers to
buy the business being sold with the support of environmental factors in people who use Facebook
a lot, as for the advantages such as being able to sell goods quickly, being able to have many
relationships/networks on Facebook. Apart from that, there are disadvantages such as prices below
market but still guaranteeing quality, always being active on Facebook media and consistently
promoting the products being sold so that they are always seen by the public so they are interested
in buying, building good relationships for mutual agreement so as not to harm others or themselves.
. Facebook not only functions as an advertising medium in creative business development, but also
as a communication medium with various consumers. Apart from that, many people can easily build
creative businesses through Facebook because it is already known to many people. This will
certainly make it more accessible to retailers and consumers.
