Pemanfaatan Media Sosial Twitter Oleh BNBP Dalam Upaya Mitigasi Bencana

Abstract

In the current era of technological development, it is easier for people to get various information through social media. For the community,
social media is a means that can be used to meet the needs of information that is being discussed. With the emergence of Twitter social media
in the community, an activity becomes more flexible and practical, especially in the act of exchanging information. Twitter is also used in various
types of agencies, one of which is BNPB. BNPB (National Agency for Disaster Management) is a government agency that is used as a forum
for information about natural disasters and natural disaster mitigation efforts. This study aims to determine the effect of the utilization
of Twitter social media by BNPB in disaster mitigation efforts in the social community environment. The method used in this research is a
descriptive qualitative approac h method by observing the BNPB Twitter account and conducting an interview with one of the followers
of the @BNPB_Indonesia Twitter account. Qualitative research focuses on observing and analyzing the social environment from an individual's
point of view. The results of this study indicate that the most appropriate use of twitter in disseminating information about natural disasters is
the @BNPB_Indonesia account. With information from BNPB, the public can find out news about natural disasters and education on
natural disaster mitigation efforts provided by the @BNPB_Indonesia account.
