Abstract

Liquor is a drink that contains a mixture of alcohol and ethanol, the drink has a harmful impact
on human physical and spiritual health. Alcohol if consumed in the long term will cause
dependence for users. The effect is loss of self-awareness and hallucinations. The social deviation
that occurred in Jeruk Village, Lakarsantri District, Surabaya City due to bootleg liquor which
had fatal consequences, namely death. One of the cases that occurred in Jeruk village was carried
out by teenagers who came from respected families. The purpose of this study was to find out the
role of the local village head in handling this case, and the views and beliefs of the community by
looking at the case. The method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach,
namely conducting observations and interviews with the surrounding community. The results of
this study indicate that the role of the local village head in handling this case is to join in appealing
to the local community to be wiser in holding events, especially until the early hours of the morning.
In addition, the village head also handled the case and helped solve it. The public's view and belief
in the case of bootleg liquor is that people pay more attention to the situation in their surroundings,
as well as the public's trust in the perpetrators of the bootleg liquor is starting to wane even to the
perpetrators' families
