Pemanfaatan Aplikasi Youtube oleh Teater Gembok sebagai Media Pengenalan Kebudayaan Muatan Lokal

Abstract

This year, the world population reached 8.05 billion, with Indonesia having 278.69 million people, accounting for
3.51% of the world's total population. However, not all residents understand the diversity of Indonesian culture,
including local culture in each region. Introduction to culture from an early age is important, because it influences
the behavior of the younger generation in society. Therefore, the use of social media, especially YouTube, as a tool
to introduce and preserve local culture, is an effective solution. YouTube, with its wide coverage and ease of use,
has been used by arts communities such as Probolinggo's Gembok Theater to introduce theater arts to the younger
generation. This community not only shares their theatrical performances, but also shares their experiences,
learning and creative processes through YouTube. In this way, the Padlock Theater opens up opportunities for
teenage students to develop their talents and interests in the arts, while enriching their knowledge of local Indonesian
culture. Social media plays a big role in preserving culture because social media is an integral part of human life.
In this way, many sides will benefit. From the perspective of society, cultural integrity, and the social media platform
itself. It is also hoped that this facility can develop modern cultural ways. Through the use of social media, local
culture will not only remain alive, but also develop and receive wider appreciation, creating a global network that
strengthens the sustainability of unique cultures throughout the world.
