Motif “ARMY Fanatik” dalam Mempertahankan Citra BTS

Abstract

This research aims to find out the depiction of K-POP fanaticism, especially the ARMY in maintaining the image of their
idols. The research method used is phenomenology or phenomenology study. The data inference technique used was interviews
with five ARMY informants. The results showed that there were 3 motives for ARMY fanatics in maintaining BTS's image.
The first is to maintain BTS's good name, help BTS's career increase, help maintain BTS's fame. It can be seen from this
research that many of BTS's fanatical fans orcommonly called ARMY really love BTS, maintaining BTS's good name
can be seen from the ARMY in protecting their idols such as not accepting when BTS is blasphemed. But in the bigotry of
the ARMY, which is the BTS fandom, it does not only cause bad meaning, but also provides great benefits for idols, such as
idolswho maintain their privacy because of some ARMY, idols also benefit from the attitude of this fanatical ARMY, they can
maintain their careers well, as if there is negative news about BTS can be maintained because of the ARMY they will defend
their idols and be at the forefront. This BTS fandom is unlike other fandoms becausethey love their idols so much, because
there are some fandoms that may be their fanaticism is a boomerang for the idols they admire. From this article we can see that
