Rasionalitas Tradisi Wiwitan Dengan Ajaran Islam Masyarakat Desa Sokosari Di Era Modernisasi

Abstract

Modernization has had an impact on traditions in Indonesia, one of which is the wiwitan tradition
which involves the belief system of the people of the times, people's understanding of religion is
often accused of being one of the driving factors for change in a tradition because it is considered
a different thing making it difficult to go hand in hand. Therefore this study aims to explore the
rationality between the wiwitan tradition and the teachings of Islam in the modernization era as it
is today. By involving the people of Sokosari Village, especially those who work as farmers. This
study uses a qualitative research method by relying on secondary and primary data, which is
analyzed using grounded research techniques. This study uses Emile Durkheim's perspective on
religion. The results of this research are that the wiwitan tradition is faced with current changes,
making the wiwitan tradition a rational tradition based on Islamic teachings, by ignoring meanings
and values that deviate from Islamic teachings
