Abstract

In this highly developed era, it is undeniable that the flow of education is unstoppable. The increasingly open mindset of
society and the freedom to speak out make people no longer afraid to fight for their rights in order to obtain justice and
equality. The same thing is experienced by women. How from time to time their education, career and choices are
considered no more important than men. Therefore, until now, women are still trying to create justice, and fight for
equality. This research aims to examine the stigmas that still develop in society towards women. The research method we
use is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Researchers will make observations about the stigmas that are still
attached to women, supported by data collected through questionnaires distributed online. The result of this study is that
most female respondents choose to be a freer person without being bound by the stigma of society. Free to pursue higher
education, free to be a career woman, choose not to have children, etc. Some of them also choose to continue their
education and have their own income even though they are married and have children. Meanwhile, most male
respondents were also open and appreciative of their wives' freedom to choose to be independent.
