Abstract

Research on the role of Instagram in increasing sales on shopee is based on significant
social changes in people's behavior patterns from time to time. For example, people who
originally bought something such as vegetables, cleaning tools, toiletries and so on that can
be done in the market, can now buy anything by just staying at home. This is closely related
to technological advances which can now be called the era of digitalism, where most or the
majority of people's activities can be facilitated by technological sophistication. Lately,
many people tend to buy goods or food on the shopee platform because they see an ad on
someone's Instagram post. This can happen because Instagram is one of the effective social
media platforms to promote a product sold on shopee. The method we use to analyze the
data is by qualitative method by spreading a Google Form containing 5 basic questions
related to the topic we discussed. The purpose of this study is to find out the role of Instagram
as one of the influential social media for increasing sales flow on shopee. Both from the
positive and negative sides. Therefore, it is hoped that the results can be used as a reference
or benchmark in maximizing social media, especially in the economic sector better.
