Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago with diverse cultures, ethnicities, and languages. In this diversity, there will be great potential to
trigger divisions, especially in modern times like now. Culture will increasingly fade among the community because it is
considered old-fashioned. It is important for today’s young generation to be a bridge in preserving these cultures amid the
impact of globalization. However, who would have thought that the development of technology has had an impact on ethical
changes in society. Many young people prefer a modern westernized lifestyle rather than being proud of their own culture,
such as batik. People see batik as something old-fashioned and not evolving with the times. In fact, batik is a heritage that
has been recognizen by UNESCO. However, there is no feeling of pride in the community, especially the younger
generation, in introducing batik much more than now. Therefore, researchers conducted simple research related to the
government’s batik ambassador program in the preservation of Indonesia batik wether it had a positive impact or vice versa.
The method that researchers use it the constructivism paradigm through interviews with qualitative research types with
the result that the role of batik ambassador is very much as a medium for preserving Indonesia batik, including
promoting batik with social media, working with news media and batik craftsmen, as well as through various events andwork
programs. The researchers hope that this journal can open people’s minds regarding the importance of batik and pioneer the
creative ideas of the younger generation.
