Abstract

The environment plays a very important role in human survival. Even so, environmental damage is also rampant. Sadly, the
perpetrators of environmental damage are humans themselves. Therefore, Greenpeace is here to raise environmental
awareness. One of these non-governmental organizations (Non-Governmental Organization), engaged in the environment.
Greenpeace also has representatives in almost every country. In Indonesia, there is Greenpeace Indonesia which is centered
in Jakarta. Greenpeace Indonesia utilizes technology by using social media - Instagram, as a platform for campaigning. This
research aims to find out the campaign messages to reduce air pollution in Jakarta. We used a qualitative approach with a
content analysis research method. The research data was obtained from 14 uploads in the form of 6 photos, 5 videos, and 3
uploads of photos and videos on the @greenpeaceid Instagram account. The content analysis pattern in this study is that
Greenpeace Indonesia responds to the Jakarta pollution problem firmly. Greenpeace Indonesia also took quite bold actions by
criticizing the government in the captions of several uploads on the @greenpeaceid Instagram account. The contribution of
this research has succeeded in making people's eyes wide open to Jakarta's air pollution. The public has become educated on
the dangers of Jakarta's air as well as raising awareness to reduce air pollution
