Abstract

In the era of modern and digitalization, rapid advances in communication and information
technology have had a significant impact on the conventional media industry, especially print
media. The Internet has revolutionized the production, distribution and consumption of
information. Because of this, the internet indirectly provides challenges to existing print media
companies to develop their products and services in digital form. One of the print media that is
being challenged in this digital era is magazines. Magazines are one of the mass media which now
also have to adapt to changes in this era of digitalization. Adaptation is of course important for
the continued existence of the magazine. Of the many magazines that can be discussed, the author
uses Girl Magazines as the main topic. Girl Magazine is an Indonesian youth magazine that has
been published for 35 years. Girl Magazine was popular in the 90s and 2000 era. At that time, this
magazine discussed trends for women ranging from beauty, films, novels, songs, etc. Apart from
that, Girl Magazine also discussed clothing trends represented by the lifestyles of artists at that
time. So it's not a surprise that Girls Magazine has become a role model for young
women in Indonesia.
