Analisis kesiapan guru sekolah dasar dalam implementasi AI dan coding berdasarkan kemampuan media pembelajaran IT

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' readiness to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) and coding based on their competence in utilizing information technology (IT) media. The research participants were alumni of the Primary Islamic Teacher Education (PGMI) Program at UIN Madura who are currently employed as teachers in various educational institutions. A descriptive survey method was employed, focusing on the use of IT-based learning media, frequency of use, diversity of media, students' enthusiasm, learning outcomes, as well as the availability of technological infrastructure and the level of IT proficiency in the institutions where the alumni teach. The findings reveal that all participants (100%) employed a combination of IT-based and conventional instructional media, with 60% actively integrating IT-based media into their teaching practices. The most frequently used media were social media platforms (70%), YouTube (52%), and Microsoft PowerPoint (50%), whereas interactive platforms such as Kahoot were not utilized at all. Students demonstrated a very high level of enthusiasm (100%), and 94% were able to understand the learning materials effectively. In terms of technological infrastructure, 38% of schools were categorized as having excellent IT facilities, 33% as adequate, and 29% as inadequate. Teachers' IT proficiency was also relatively high, with 38% of institutions reporting that their educators possessed comprehensive IT competencies. These findings indicate that teachers demonstrate a relatively strong level of readiness to implement AI and coding in education. Nevertheless, improvements in technological infrastructure and sustained professional development are still required to strengthen digital competencies more equitably across educational institutions.
