This study examines the challenges of teaching Civic Education in primary schools in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology have had a significant impact on primary education. Students’ critical thinking skills remain relatively low, as evidenced by their passive attitudes during the learning process, in which they primarily listen to the material presented by teachers. The use of monotonous teaching methods and learning models may further affect students’ learning outcomes. AI technologies, such as Quizlet, machine learning, Century Tech, and chatbots, have the potential to improve the quality of learning by providing personalized and adaptive content according to students’ needs. This article discusses the implementation of AI in Civic Education learning in primary schools, the challenges associated with its use, and its implications for learning and students’ character development. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review to collect and analyze data from various relevant sources. The findings indicate that the utilization of AI can help visualize abstract learning materials, thereby making the learning process more engaging and supporting the achievement of learning objectives.
