Early reading skills are a fundamental foundation for successful learning among primary school students. However, early-grade reading instruction in primary schools still faces several challenges, including the limited availability of interactive learning media and low student motivation. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using Assemblr Edu-based Augmented Reality (AR) media in improving primary school students’ early reading skills. The study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design, with research instruments consisting of tests measuring students’ ability to recognize letters and read simple words, observation sheets, and student and teacher response questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ reading skill scores after the implementation of the AR-based learning media. In addition, students demonstrated greater ease in recognizing letters, improved reading fluency, and higher levels of enthusiasm for learning. These findings indicate that Assemblr Edu-based AR media can serve as a feasible and innovative alternative for supporting early reading instruction in primary schools.
