Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the narrative structures of the Ni Diah Tantri story, as well as the Hindu ideals it contains, and to determine whether it may be used to generate literary tourism in Klungkung Regency, Bali. The Ni Diah Tantri narrative, displayed on the ceiling of Kerta Gosa in the form of Kamasan puppet paintings, is a one-of-a-kind visual literary masterpiece of great cultural significance. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with procedures including literature review, visual observation, interviews with expert informants, and documentation. The findings revealed that the story of Ni Diah Tantri incorporates spiritual virtues like self-control, compassion, and loyalty, all of which are consistent with Hindu beliefs. This story can be used as a means of storytelling to enhance the appeal of cultural tourism in Klungkung when combined with a tourist literary strategy. In order to promote the transformation of literary works into a sustainable tourist destination branding force, this study recommends cross-sector collaboration between academics, tourism actors, and cultural conservationists.
