Keynote Speakers

1. Dr. Carmen Van den Bergh - Leiden University

Carmen Van den Bergh is an assistant professor in Italian Literature at the Leiden University Centre for Arts in Society (LUCAS) where she is director of the Italian Language and Culture Department, track leader for Italian in the MA Literary Studies, and quartermaster for the new BA program Modern Languages. Simultaneously she works in Belgium at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) as a Senior Research Fellow for the Flemish Council for Scientific Research (FWO) with a project on the role of writers in newspapers and magazines of the Italian Novecento. Other research specializations are Italian ‘modernism’, prose writings during the Italian interwar, (neo)realism in film and literature, archival research, the literary canon, and digital humanities.

2. Dr. Clive Hilton - The Open University, UK

Before rejoining The Open University, at Coventry University, he collaboratively redesigned the former MSc Industrial Product Design course and changed the qualification to MA Product Design Innovation. The curriculum redesign is now the validated template for all postgraduate design courses at Coventry University. He introduced the use of project video output as an alternative to written formats to mitigate the English language deficit among affected students.

3. Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari MM MSc.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari MM MSc. will discuss "Enhancing a Strategic of Environmental Science and Renewable Energy of SDGs in Higher Education". There will be a lot of discussion about how important it is to be a tertiary institution that has principles and goals in line with the globally mandated SDGs. The strategy of higher education institutions in Indonesia and abroad, especially those selected for the UI Greenmetric, is an indicator that these tertiary institutions play a large role in achieving the SDGs through academic activities, research, and social activities that involve people from all walks of life, especially Environmental Science and Renewable Energy issues.

4. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eko Hariyono

Eko Hariyono is an associate professor in science education who is very diligent in introducing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and SDGs at Unesa, especially in the field of geoscience education related to climate change through research, learning, and community service activities. Currently active in the international research organization related to climate change (ATECCE). The challenge of climate change is a serious concern and needs to be packaged in research and learning that will be able to educate the public regarding the impacts and actions of climate change. Based on experience, it is known that science education has great potential in realizing sustainable development goals through creating a better and more mature society in understanding the meaning of the environment now and in the future.
