The purpose of this research is to test and analyze the effect of compensation on motivation, the effect of motivation on performance, the effect of compensation on performance at the Water Resources and Highways Service in the Tandes Rayon Work Unit. This research uses a type of causal research with a quantitative approach. The research location is at the Water Resources and Highways Service Office, Tandes Rayon Work Unit, Jl. Dukuh Kupang Timur X/26 A, Pakis Village, Sawahan District, Surabaya, East Java. The population in this study were non-ASN/task force employees of the Water Resources and Highways Service, Tandes Rayon Work Unit, totaling 125 task forces. The sampling technique used Slovin's opinion, so the number of samples taken was 96 non-ASN/task force employees. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is SEM (Structural Equation Model) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) version 4.1.0.6. The results of this research are that there is a positive and significant influence between compensation on motivation, motivation influences performance positively and significantly, compensation has a positive and significant influence on performance.
