PENGARUH KOMPETENSI TERHADAP KINERJA DRIVER ANGKUTAN WIRA WIRI DI KOTA SURABAYA

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of competence on the performance of Wira Wiri public transport drivers in Surabaya. Competence in this research includes three main dimensions: knowledge, skills, and attitude. Meanwhile, driver performance is measured through quality, quantity, punctuality, and teamwork. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires. The population consists of all Wira Wiri drivers employed by the operator PT. Jewa Dianmitra, totaling 116 individuals, with a sample of 54 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression and partial (t-test) analysis. The results indicate that competence has a positive and significant influence on driver performance. This finding suggests that improving drivers' knowledge, skills, and work attitudes directly enhances the service performance of Wira Wiri transport. Therefore, enhancing driver competence should be a key focus in human resource management by both the operator and the Surabaya City Department of Transportation.
