The rapid adoption of TikTok in Indonesia has heightened concerns over impulsive consumption and hedonistic lifestyles that would influence financial behavior amid the ease of digital transactions, particularly in East Java, where a notable gap exists between high ICT infrastructure and comparatively low internet usage relative to other provinces in Java. This study examines the influence of financial literacy, financial technology, self-control, hedonic lifestyle, income, and optimism on the financial behavior of TikTok users in East Java. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, data were collected from 282 respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS 23. The results reveal that financial literacy, financial technology, self-control, income, and optimism exert a positive and significant influence on financial behavior, whereas hedonic lifestyle shows no significant effect. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening financial literacy and self-control among younger users to promote responsible use of financial technology, while highlighting the need for digital platform providers and policymakers to enhance adaptive financial education to close the ICT utilization gap in East Java.
