Peran Job Satisfaction dalam Memediasi Pengaruh Self Efficacy Terhadap Work Engagament pada Karyawan

This study was motivated by the importance of work engagement in supporting the achievement of organizational goals. Employees' work engagement is influenced by several factors, including self-efficacy and job satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the effect of self-efficacy on work engagement, the effect of self-efficacy on job satisfaction, the effect of job satisfaction on work engagement, and the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between self-efficacy and work engagement. This study employed a quantitative research approach involving 45 office employees of Perumda Delta Tirta Sidoarjo. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a saturated sampling method, in which the entire population was selected as the research sample. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results showed that self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on work engagement, self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, and job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on work engagement. Furthermore, job satisfaction positively and significantly mediated the effect of self-efficacy on work engagement. In conclusion, self-efficacy and job satisfaction play important roles in enhancing employees' work engagement. Therefore, the company is recommended to strengthen employees' self-efficacy through competency development and improve job satisfaction, particularly regarding salary and the nature of the work itself, to foster higher levels of work engagement.
