This study aims to understand how the spirit of Nahdlatut Tujjar is interpreted, transformed, and actualized in the formation of contemporary Nahdliyin entrepreneurs. The study employed a qualitative single-case design with multiple informants and involved five purposively selected informants based on their entrepreneurial experience and connectedness to the Nahdliyin environment. The 35th NU Congress in Jombang was positioned as a strategic fieldwork setting rather than an object of evaluation. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed inductively using the Gioia methodology. The analysis generated four aggregate dimensions: Value-Based Entrepreneurial Orientation, Social and Resource Mobilization, Adaptive Entrepreneurial Capability Formation, and Economic and Social Value Creation. The findings indicate that Nahdlatut Tujjar is reinterpreted into orientations of independence, trustworthiness, honesty, usefulness, and productivity; social networks and resources are activated through relationships; experience encourages learning and adaptation; and the resulting capabilities generate both economic and social value. Resource Orchestration Theory serves as the primary interpretive lens, while Social Capital and Dynamic Capabilities help explain access, mobilization, learning, and adaptation. The study is limited by its single-case design and purposive sample. Future research may test the emerging process model across different pesantren, regions, generations, and business sectors.
