The Event Management Analysis at the 6th UMSurabaya National Silat Championship 2024

In recent years, pencak silat championships have been in great demand and are so popular among the public to watch, as well as athletes involved in participating in various national and international events. One of them is the 6th UMSurabaya National Silat Championship 2024 event which is an interesting competition forum for athletes as well as the preservation of pencak silat martial arts culture. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the implementation of event management at the 6th UMSurabaya National Silat Championship 2024. This research uses the theory of the stages of event implementation by Joe Goldblatt. The research method used is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection tool used by the researcher is using in-depth interviews and filling out questionnaires on organizers, coaches and athletes. The data validity test uses a credibility test with the type of source and technique triangulation. This study shows that the 6th UMSurabaya National Silat Championship 2024 event is analyzed using the theory of the stages of event implementation which consists of five stages, namely Research, Design, Planning, Coordination, and Evaluation. From the results of the research at this stage, the event ran smoothly in accordance with the direction of the organizers. Despite changes in the implementation time and delays in the distribution of door prizes to award-winning athletes, the organizers confirmed and evaluated the participants and provided input as a development at the next UMSurabaya National Pencak Silat Championship 2024.
