    Hasil aktivitas MBKM menjadi suatu luaran bagi lulusan untuk dapat berperan dalam pembangunan dan pengelolaan pembelajaran di era society 5.0. Dalam usaha untuk mempelajari Kurikulum Merdeka, pemerhati dan akademika dituntut untuk melaksanakan inovasi-inovasi baru dalam penelitian serta perlu mempelajari desain dan strategi pembelajaran yang membantu meningkatkan berbagai kompetensi peserta didik dan bentuk luaran dari aktivitas MBKM mahasiswa yang mendukung penguatan kompetensi di era society 5.0. Hasil-hasil inovasi pembelajaran dan penelitian yang telah dilakukan ini, perlu diwadahi dan disosialisasikan, agar terjadi interaksi yang positif untuk perkembangan Inovasi dan Teknologi dalam Mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka dan perannya di masyarakat. Melalui kegiatan Festival MBKM dan Seminar Nasional MBKM bertema Transformasi Pendidikan Tinggi di Era 4.0: Implementasi MBKM dalam Kurikulum Merdeka diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan tentang peran SDM dalam mengembangkan Kurikulum Merdeka, Implementasi MBKM dan Produk-produk inovatif dari aktivitas serta pentingnya desain dan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kompetensi peserta didik.

    The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. Today, the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) in the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) provides substantive support and capacity-building for the SDGs and their related thematic issues, including water, energy, climate, oceans, urbanization, transport, science and technology, the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR), partnerships and Small Island Developing States. DSDG plays a key role in the evaluation of the UN systemwide implementation of the 2030 Agenda and in advocacy and outreach activities relating to the SDGs. To make the 2030 Agenda a reality, broad ownership of the SDGs must translate into a strong commitment by all stakeholders to implement the global goals. DSDG aims to help facilitate this engagement.


    Based on The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023: Special Edition provides a powerful call to action, presenting a candid assessment of the SDGs based on the latest data and estimates. While highlighting the existing gaps and urging the world to redouble its efforts, the report also emphasizes the immense potential for success through strong political will and the utilization of available technologies, resources, and knowledge. Together, the global community can reignite progress towards achieving the SDGs and create a brighter future for all. According to the report, the impacts of the climate crisis, the war in Ukraine, a weak global economy, and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have revealed weaknesses and hindered progress towards the Goals. The report further warns that while lack of progress is universal, it is the world’s poorest and most vulnerable who are experiencing the worst effects of these unprecedented global challenges. It also points out areas that need urgent action to rescue the SDGs and deliver meaningful progress for people and the planet by 2030.



    Achieving the SDGs requires public support in effective planning, implementation, and evaluation in achieving all of these sustainable development goals. Higher education plays a strategic role in increasing the credibility of policies, programs implementation, monitoring, and evaluating the achievements of SDGs at the local, national, and international levels. Likewise, the State University of Surabaya through the Directorate of Ranking and Publication Innovation continues to strive to activate programs to support the achievement of the SDGs. One of them is through international conference activities, in this case, it can be used as a forum for exchanging ideas and programs and facilitating all groups in disseminating research results related to SDGs both from within the country and abroad. Many high-quality studies have been carried out by universities that have contributed to the SDGs. Research, comparative studies, survey-based or case-based, that describes the achievement of the SDGs which then ends with recommendations. Recommendations often require universities to play a more prominent role in developing the SDGs. This is because universities are considered living laboratories in sustainable development, and their activities can have a multiplier effect in the field that other institutions may not have. Research results produced by universities should be published and read by many audiences. This conference is expected to be a bridge to promote the work of higher education and increase the number of universities committed to SDGs. In addition, universities are expected to lead the process of transforming activities to reduce negative impacts on the environment and ensure the adoption of a sustainable development model. Therefore, by holding The 1st International Conference on SDGs for Sustainable Future (ICSSF) with the theme “Enhancing a Strategic of Environmental Sciences and Renewable Energy for the Future of SDGs in Higher Education" it is hoped that it can provide a platform for all people, especially all academics in Higher Education to continue to contribute to support the achievement of the SDGs through scientific discussions, program exchanges, dissemination and publication of research results related to the SDGs.

    1. Environmental Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations relevant to the industry in which the organization operates. This involves meeting or exceeding legal standards for environmental protection.

    2. Resource Efficiency: Managing resources efficiently to minimize waste and reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources. This includes optimizing energy use, water conservation, and minimizing raw material usage.

    3. Waste Reduction and Recycling: Implementing strategies to reduce the generation of waste and promoting recycling initiatives. This can involve reusing materials, implementing waste reduction programs, and encouraging responsible disposal methods.

    4. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): Conducting life cycle assessments to evaluate the environmental impact of products or processes from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal. This helps identify areas for improvement in terms of environmental performance.

    5. Green Supply Chain Management: Considering the environmental impact of the entire supply chain, from the sourcing of raw materials to the delivery of the final product. This involves working with suppliers who adhere to sustainable practices.

    6. Environmental Management Systems (EMS):Implementing an environmental management system, such as ISO 14001, which provides a framework for organizations to identify, manage, and continuously improve their environmental performance.

    7. Renewable Energy Adoption: Transitioning to and investing in renewable energy sources to reduce dependence on non-renewable and environmentally harmful energy sources.

    8. Sustainable Product Development: Designing and producing products with a focus on environmental sustainability, including the use of eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient manufacturing processes, and recyclable packaging.

    9. Stakeholder Engagement:Involving stakeholders, such as employees, customers, and the local community, in environmental decision-making processes and communicating transparently about the organization's environmental initiatives.

    10. Environmental Education and Training: Providing education and training programs for employees to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.


    Implementing green environmental-based management practices can lead to long-term benefits for both the organization and the environment. It enhances the organization's reputation, reduces operational costs through resource efficiency, and contributes to global sustainability goals.


    Research results produced by universities should be published and read by many audiences.
